router problem with madden 2004

i have a linksys befsx41 router hooked up to one computer and ps2 it goes online fine with demo disk that came with na, online fine with madden 2003, but madden 2004 i have problems it does connect but i cannot get to the game rooms it always says rosters are outdated need to download i click yes and it says connection failed but when i hook my ps2 directly to the dsl modem it works fine can does anyone have any idea how to fix this
