Went to a 5pm show of 007 in
Die Another Day earlier today with a friend.
Overall the movie does what it's supposed to: Entertain the audience. There are the classic Bond one-liners (sexual innuendos included), more action than you've EVER seen in a James Bond flick, subtle (but effective) humor, and plenty of scenes that are borderline 'cheesy' but work nontheless. Oh, and the girls in this one can act (unlike Denise Richards of 'The World is Not Enough'). Some notable scenes include the opening (as usual), the fencing match, and what I like to call 'Aston Martin vs. Jaguar ON ICE'.
You should definately go see this movie...it's
fun. It has just enough realism and credibility to take it seriously, and enough corny one liners and subtle humor to have a few laughs. It's definately a modernized Bond, and yet it stays very true to its roots. Memorable scenes and believable acting performances make this one of the better 007 films, and arguably (and in my opinion, as much as I liked Goldeneye) Brosnan's best.
