One thing is certain: a mammoth will not walk this earth for another ten years. Maybe even twenty years. We can't even clone humans, and that task is a cakewalk compared to this. At least we have something to incubate a cloned human (namely a human female willing to act as the surrogate mother). To create a mammoth, you would have to grow the thing entirely in a test tube. We can't even do that with humans. At most, human eggs are only fertilized in the lab.

Besides, to what end would we do this? A mammoth lives again, and then...?
