Someone brought up a good point.

Locke knew he needed the guys digital watch even before he went into the plane, meaning he already knew that there was a bomb that he could set up like a time bomb. That kinda points to Locke having a partner in on it. I think he and widmore are working together, cuz if you think about it, Locke wants off the island, and widmore wants the island, so it is in both their interests to work together.
