There is literally no way to recover from it. Thus, the phrase final smash? Every time I get final smashed by Ike, I want to smash the living hell out of my Wii and TV. Comparing to other's like Lucario's. Which is so easy to dodge and escape from. Kirby's is pretty stupid too.
