Since all you are talking about no game threads I thought I'd make one :P
Anyways Combine and I picked this up on the weekend. It's an RTs, but not like your standard RTS. It was designed with the console in mind, and it pulls it off pretty well.
The story is like most Tom Clancy games, near future military unrest, etc. There are 3 factions, USA, European Union, Russia. Tensions are high enough to trigger WWIII.
In Campaign, you get to sample all 3 factions in a prelude, then select which side you want for the real war. The missions are alright, but the game really shines in multi-player
The camera is brought right down to the units, you get good detail and can see the action better. It also adds a sense of urgency when you get attacked, sine your down with them.
Theater of War mode has you select a faction, and fight for them on a global scale. The world is the battle ground, and players of opposing factions are your enemies. Its like Risk, but video games. Depending on who captured or defended what, the global map changes and alters for the next day. The battle field is never the same, you may be gaining ground in one area, and losing it in another.
I know most console RTS games suck for controls, but End War has taken a different approach, voice commands. I know what you're thinking, but much to my surprise, the voice commands work pretty darn good. You dont have to talk like a robot, and the game does a good job of picking it up the first time, I'd say 90% of the time. This really quickens the players reaction time to events and is handy for attacking enemies/locations you can see on the map, but cannot directly see.
Its theres funCo-op missions and Co-op multi-player. All around the best console RTS, but not the best RTS. Ill include the IGN video review.
