Default Your Personal Favourite Multiplayer Maps/Tracks From Any Title

I was pondering this a while back, having been exposed to a few classics on various platforms via various titles...and was inclined to share a few personal favourites, as I hope you do to, in a mild, retaliatory way.

Onward!

Burnout 2 - Big Surf Shores

Nothing quite like the clean, efficient racing that Burnout 2 provided. I because weary of the way the Burnout franchise became so crash-oriented that it felt like Mountain Dew and Doritos were sponsoring the whole event. Burnout 2 and Big Surf Shores, burnouts chaining up to 30 and beyond, just bliss. One of the best courses ever.

Ridge Racer - Downtown Rave City

My arcade racer faourite of all time (big call, since I try to take the genre farily seriously), Ridge Racer on PSP is just so smooth and sleek. It hasn't aged a day since its release way back in 2004/2005. Best drift mechanic of any game, as artificial as some people seem to think it is. Regardless, this track explodes with light and colour...the tunnels of neon racing past, the sky bursting with fireworks as you race across the mid-track suspension bridge. So clean, so beautiful.

Killzone Liberation - Airfield

Possibly my heralded favourite action/shooter multiplayer map of all time. It is small enough, and vertical enough, to really have intense, exciting matches. Not to mention, the weapon placement is next to perfect. Just a brilliant map, for one-on-one to four-on-four and FFA. Kudos to Guerrilla and I hope to see a sequel.

Halo 2 - Lockout

I was never any good at Halo 2, terrible in fact, but this map ruled our sharehouse. It was 4 player link-up and, while I got my arse handed to me many a time, the map must be appreciated for its compact design and sheer channeling of action. Ah, the room of death...the two-story structure situated at one end of the map, near the plasma sword. A room of death indeed.

Unreal Tournament - Opposing Worlds

Low-gravity modifier, rockets, total fun. While everyone else was hooked on Quake 3, I was loving this one with unholy fervour. I rather dug this map, as featureless as it is. It just felt 'to the point'.

Unreal Tournament 2004 - Tokara Forest

Despite this video completely destroying one reason why I loved the map - the music - the jumping around was terrific. Loved the distance that could be travelled. What's more, landing on someone's head, flak-cannon first, was terrific fun.

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow - Canyon / Sandtrap

Possibly the dodgiest video on Youtube, but it doesn't detract from the awesomeness of this map. It's compact, it's vertical, the weapon placement is terrific and the tunnels are awesome. Not much more needs to be said apart from I hope E3 turns out a glimpse at a new PSP Syphon Filter.

...there ARE more I've got, but my lunch-hour just isn't long enough for more reminiscing. Gents, what about you? Your favourites?
