Default Smackdown vs Raw 08 for Wii

I'm pretty sure the only person who would even remotely care is Strangler, but I decided to pick this up for two reasons.

1)SvR 08 on Xbox 360/PS3 is just bad from the demo I played so gonna stick with 07 for a bit. The Wii version looked like it offered something new.
2)Toys R Us is having a Buy 2 get 1 free sale on Wii games.

After spending a little bit of time with SvR 08 for the Wii. The main keyword right now is limited. I knew that going in and don't mind, but well

There are only 5 main types in the game
Single, Tag, Triple Threat, KO and Hardcore.
That's right not even fatal fourway which is rather weird.
I don't mind though. Assume it's the first one want to get the engine down.

But even that is kind of limited. I understand they are trying to simplify it for the Wii audience but most wrestlers have some of the same core moves.

I do like the ultimate control moves on the Wii-mote it gives them a bit more power. But you really only have weak grapples and ultimate control nothing in between.

One cool aspect they added is you can also somewhat control finishers depending on the wrestlers.

Like if you are Edge when you go for the spear you can stay in the corner and do his hand taunt or just spear them right away or if you are Cena doing the 5 Knuckle.. you can brush off the shoulder or just drop the punch.

It adds a little something to the game.

This is the first Wii game I remember going crazy with the controls but finding that simpler motions work just as well. The issue comes in with the up and down, but eh.

Reversals are something that take a lot of getting use to. Ask Fox about my mad skillz at reversals .

But here you have to match the motion of your oppenent which is rather weird, but I can see it becoming easier. As I have been getting the hang of it.

It has all the wrestlers from the other versions.

No 24/7 mode, but Main Event mode which may be a bit better. Who knows. Haven't gone into it yet.

I haven't fully played the main version of the game but in tag match you can make desperation tags which is cool. As way as your partner running interference on an incoming guy.

All in all, I suggest giving it a rental if you have a few wrestling buddies over. It does seem to make for a good party time.

Oh yeah, one more thing. You also get motion controlled taunts so you have to carry out the action. some work better than others, but that should make smack talk a whole lot more fun in person.
