Hal Sparks of Queer as Folk had to say,
"You can't let the government take control of Television. If you don't want your kids seeing that material you don't get it for your TV!"

Rachel Campos replied, "If I want kid shows like Nickolodeon and Disney, I have to order a package that comes with MTV... this has to change!"

As the debate erupted, Donny cut both of them off and cut to a commercial. Some key shows that sparked this controversy was,

Desperate Housewives
Niptuck
The Shield
etc.
What's your thoughts on these guys? Should the FCC regulate the TV even further?

My belief...

This country is based on freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press. Other countries who don't have nearly as much freedom as we do show Nudity, vulgarity, and violent shows on basic TV however aimed at later hours.

I don't think the FCC should do anything. The parents have a responsibility to police their children and what they watch, especially on prime time. It's not the government's responsibility or FCC's....... FCC is there to deem what is indecent and decent. If the FCC allows it, then you have the authority to police what your children are watching.

If you look at all the restrictive elements in this society, they deal with parents. Labels such as Parentl Advisory: Explicit Content, PG; PG-13 being Parental Guidance, AOL's and other ISP's PARENTAL controls.... they all deal with parents being parents.

So if the FCC allows a show like Desperate Housewives on broadcast channels, parents should take responsibility and make sure their kids don't see it, especially at night.

Any thoughts?
