Confirming that the Revolution will have backwards compatibility with Game Cube means that the revolution will still be optical disked based media hooked to a T.V.
I am starting to believe that the technology and media for the Revolution will remain similar to Xbox 2 and PS3. Instead of some new type of hardware I think Nintendo plans to have some type of incredible online community that will revolutionize the way games are today. Maybe including a new controller with touch screen to make a new way of navigating through their online community.
Just a theory.
