Default Pokemon Leaf Green/Fire Red Review: IGN 9.0

Full Review Article

8.0 Presentation
The game doesn't do a whole lot new or different beyond the established Ruby/Sapphire goods. Still, it's chock full of things to do, and is presented better for newbies to the series.

6.0 Graphics
The game uses pretty much the same engine that drives Ruby/Sapphire; limited animation and basic colors for the environments. We're ready for a handheld upgrade in the visuals department.

7.0 Sound
Pretty much standard fare for the GBA, mixing Game Boy Color quality audio with the better tunage that the GBA can handle.

9.0 Gameplay
Once again, the Pokemon crew create a game that works extremely well for the handheld market. It doesn't have quite the same variety as Ruby/Sapphire, but it's still incredibly satisfying.

10.0 Lasting Appeal
The main single player quest ends at about 30 hours in, but that doesn't include going beyond it to train for the multiplayer battles and connectivity with Colosseum.

9.0 OVERALL: (out of 10 / not an average)

I'm going to get it, I'm still working on Sapphire but I want to recruit some Pokemon from Leaf and Fire that aren't in R/S. Plus, I want to replay the adventure in the Kanto land.
