And once again my cabin wins yet I did not participate at all. And just like last year, the prize is incredibly sh*tty.

it's a wallpaper, but I'll be damned if that piece of crap will ever grace the background of my desktop.

EDIT: I just got another email. Apparently I was part of the F-Zero team and I won a screen saver. Goodie!

Yeah, I won too.

I couldn't stand it past the first day.. think of the worst Nintendo fanboy you've ever met, times that by 499, and put them all in chatrooms. Good... god. =\

Fortunately during the latter half of the day, I tried the FF minigame, the library one. When you won, you got sent to a mystical land, and it completely filtered the n00bs. It was like heaven. I met a new friend there, and we talked for a while with the other few people.. but unfortunately one person posted a link in one of the cabin chats (and double unfortunately it was the worst). The n00bs started flooding in and I couldn't take it.. we weren't safe. So, I did other things that week, and missed every day after that.. even the closing ceremonies. But, I did make a flag for our cabin, but I have no idea if they chose it.

And we had the dumbest cabin name. "The Bridge". How clever.

And guess what my prize was? 3rd place badge GIF and a wallpaper. Whoop-dee-friggin' doo. =\

Nothing special this year. The only thing I liked was the chats with the NOA mods. And it was funny one night when we were in a chat and a NOA mod kept saying Zelda is not in Animal Crossing. I repeatedly kept saying it is because I have it right now and he kept insisting that it isn't in the game. God I wish i had a digital camera at that moment. But then again, he was one of the more idiotic/stupid mods who probably didn't even know what an Action Replay is.

And DarkMaster, think you can send those to me? I want to see the crap I would've won if my team got off their ass and did something. (I was in Cabin 8, which got last place)

-My long ass post/rant about Camp Hyrule 2003-

Introduction

Yup, it was pretty stupid this year (well every year is pretty stupid, but this one topped the iceberg in stupidity.) The forums were a nice little touch though.

Camp Hyrule must be the idiot magnet of the Internet
Like some of the people already said above, Camp Hyrule manages to attract all types of pre-pubescent morons and idiots (and don't forget AOL users) from across the world. The first few days were filled with newbies (I don't refer to people who are new to camp, just the idiots) asking the same damn questions over again. By the final day, there were still people asking how the most basic things worked (which they could have easily figured out if they read ANYTHING in the e-mails that were sent out.) Another annoying trend was that I noticed a huge surge in people typing in ALL CAPS trying to win the Gannon award from Thursday until Friday.

The Conspiracy

I like it how Nintendo desperately tried to cover it's ass this year with all the art and stuff that they posted in the Trading Post place. Last year, they said they would pick the best one out of each cabin and post it. Well, if you've ever seen some of the crappy stuff they post (some things look like they were drawn by an eight-year old with no motor skills) you would be suspicious as whether or not they were really picking the best one or just randomly selecting one and posting that.

This year, it was changed to "We'll pick a handful and post them". They probably changed it since (with the new forums) people would be posting their artwork and pestering the people at Nintendo how they're professionally photoshopped picture got beat out by little Timmy who crappily drew a luigi hat in Paint on a counseler and got his artwork posted.

Why Sync Voting is the Devil!

Another thing I really hated this year was Cabin 1's syncronized voting system. If you hadn't noticed, Cabin 1 sweeped all the awards this year (with the exception of one or two.) Now I was in Cabin 1 and all but that was really really cheap. There were FAR better people who deserved some of the awards than some of the complete morons in my cabin (I saw some of the artwork the guy who won the "Best Artist" award drew and I could name at least six other members of my cabin whose artwork was ten times better.)

The other thing that irked me was that the nominations for the sync vote consisted of a so-called "leaders" (read: the people with no life) casting votes for their "friends" and all the newbies mindlessly following them and voting for the same person. (sorta like the shepherd leading the sheep to a slaughter.) The end result was that half of the people who won the awards weren't even that qualified to recieve them.

The games:
If you didn't sign up this year, don't worry! I got all the good stuff you need (i.e. the flash games)

-General Games
Riverraft game
Marshmellow game
Diving game
Fishing game

-Nintendo related Games
1080: Avalanche game
Mario Golf Driving Range game
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance game (Once you get the map, don't even bother clicking on the chatrooms since they don't work)
F-Zero GC game
Mario Kart: Double Dash game
Wario Ware: Goalie game
Wario Ware: Jump in Hole game
Wario Ware: Scoops game
Wario Ware: Spacewar game
Wario Ware: Stomp It! game
Wario Ware: Thirsty Jimmy game

-Nintendo related games (Camp Hyrule 2002)
Star Fox Adventures game
Metroid Prime game
Super Mario Sunshine
Star Fox Adventures game
Zelda: The Wink Waker game

Sadly, the flash games are probably the best part of the camp...

Yea. Nintendo needs to stick to their Handheld and Console games...because their online games are piss poor.

My cabin won this year too, but I only went the first day, and I didnt do anything. I kinda got tired of how slow it was moving, and how it kicked to kick me off every few seconds.

I put the wallpaper on as my background, but its so busy and vibrant it practically blinded me.

I thought camphyrule was pretty cool. Although i wished they had an award for the highest score on the fish game.
I esspecially liked the way they did the awards, that was pretty funny. I didnt expect that many people to attend the closing ceremony, 700 people!!! Also i thought the sync voting was a really clever idea BTW was anyone else in cabin1?
