"It's not necessary use this now"
Stupid Japanese... or bad translators....
There are more sentences like that... the thing they say about the herbs...
I have the feeling that they put some Japanese translators on RE...

Ah, they call this "Engrish". Try searching google for video game Engrish, it's pretty hilarious. The All Your Base mentioned by Jason1 is one of the most famous engrish lines indeed.

I just wanted to point out that it's really funny that a Dutch guy, for whom English is a second language, catches on to these things faster than the people whose job it is to actually do the translating.
Maybe those people should hang out at GT and learn English from our bad jokes.

"A herb that's grow wild in this region"
I'm not sure if the next one is wrong, what exactly is a valiant?? I thought it was used like "A valiant knight", not as a word on it's own...
Anyway somewhere it says something like "A valiant wearing a collar"
This game is so freaky scary. I've also played Silent Hill 2 at a friend's, that one's scary too. Too bad you can see it's a Resident Evil 'clone' (but a very good one!). The controls are the same, the menus, the puzzles...

No, sure, it's not.
I mean compare the 2:
survival-horror
zombies (or other weird dead 2-legged creatures)
puzzles
keys
control scheme
item menu (examine?)
Resident Evil was practicly the first survival-horror game (Alone in the Dark?), after that, Silent Hill was made.
I'm not saying it's a simple clone (that's why I said 'clone'), but Silent Hill is based on RE. Although it has a totally different story, and a little bit different kind of horror.
(Or am I totally wrong? DeathsHand???)

SH is a lot different than RE...at least I think so. RE may have inspired them, but it aint no clone.

There aren't too many survival horror games... so another one comes along when there's pretty much only Resident Evil and it gets labeled an "RE clone" when it's really just another Survival horror game... *shrugs* there are big differences between SH and RE... Enviornment-wise especially (which is a big part of Horror games)... and stuff... plus RE is all like OMG ACCIDENTS HOLY CRAPOLY THERE ARE ZOMBIES AND LAB CREATURES and SH is all like cult satanic omg demons look out graaah!
Although I guess the basic gameplay is the same... but SH has more close-ranged weapons

Correction: A board... WITH A NAIL IN IT!
Don't you watch The Simpsons? Those things can make for very effective weapons...
