Re: Metal Gear Online Beta Gameplay Footage
When things are running smooth, it can look very nice. The controls and pacing take adjusting to, and there are rough spots. Taken as a whole, I really like it, and want to play more.
Upgrading and switching out the different perks is a fun addition. I really enjoy the one ability that allows you to basically incapacitate everyone for about 20 seconds.
Straight deathmatch is weak, and as a run-and-gun game, the game is borked and you will be disappointed. Stick to the objective-based games, with some team deathmatch for variety, take things a little slower, and plan out your moves with a buddy or two, and you'll both do better and, I think, have much more fun.
I've had little luck having an entire team work together, but I have been able to get with at least one team member so that I can clear rooms with the shotgun and not worry about someone coming up on my back. When it works, it really works.
There have been a lot of little annoyances that I expect from betas; it freezes regularly during the login process, and I've been dropped from a few games.
