Daaaaaaaah... I thought you were talking about photons, i.e. light particles, which as you likely know are often thought of as both discreet particles (or "spheres" as such) AND having the properties of a wavelength. Then of course I got nowhere from there.

Orange has 6 letters in it and another clue tells you this refers to how far apart you should space the tips the of the "V". The word "Begins" in my avatar is also orange to draw more attention to this, and the word Begins also has 6 letters. You should also find that the word orange appears 6 times in the story.

I actually figured that out, but I thought that the spacing of the tips of the V was 590 nm since that is the the wavelength of orange. I wasn't sure where to go from there.

Discrete particles are actually considered to be points, but that's an interesting approach I hadn't thought of.

i also thought that that clue related to a light of some sort...for the same reasons manasecret mentioned.
