Default Crash's "Wicked"

I was looking at the Wicked: The Musical website again, because I've fallen in love with the book, and just lookie here at what I found -- artwork from our dear friend Crash, aka Adam Grumbo!

http://www.witchesofoz.com/fanart.shtml#

I'm impressed Crash. Those are quite good I think. You should go out on the streets of Colorado Springs and do street potraits of pedestrians. Or better yet, come live in New Orleans and do it. Or Paris -- there are lots of street potrait artists there in the Moulin Rouge area of Montmartre, but you have talent enough to muscle your way into that market.

I hope these haven't been posted already.

EDIT: Indeed they have been posted, spread through several threads in the Artist's Guild forum.

So instead let's talk about the musical and book. Who has seen it? I know you have Crash at least, and what's the deal with the shoe-designing deal? Last I read is that the director started manufacturing the shoes you designed for the play -- do you mean Nessarose's/Dorothy's shoes?

I wonder how the musical compares to the book. From the pictures I've seen of the musical, here are some major differences --

1. --- Fiyero in the book is exotic and different -- because he has blue diamonds tattooed all over his skin. Fiyero in the musical is also exotic and different -- because he's black????? Hmmm...

2. --- Nessarose, the wicked witch's sister, intead of having no arms like in the book is instead handicap and in a wheelchair. So how does that play into the plot of her shoes helping her to walk? In the book she has no arms, so she can walk but she has trouble keeping her balance, and standing up without help from someone else is a problem. But the shoes magically let her keep her balance and walk and stand without help -- in the musical is she no longer handicap because of the shoes?

Since nobody responded anymore, I'll just have to say it in a double post: I was kidding about the background.

They're nice, though I think some parts may be slightly out of proportion. Not that I can do it better, I'm 'always' struggling with the right (same) size of the eyes...

That first one looks a lot more lifelike to me. If it was in color I might believe it was a real photograph.
