Looks like it'll be on display at CES so we'll be sure to track this one down for ya.

Re: iRiver's G10 WiBro game console
upsides...
8gig, or even a 4gig built in HD is a pretty big advantage over the PSP.
and it can arguably be considered more slick looking then the psp.
more then likely supports more formats for music and movies. and probably much easier methiod of putting them on the divice.
downsides tho, will be its game selection and quality most likely. i havnt read up on it much, but does it have a spot for disc based games like the psp or carts like DS? or stictly HD based? i'd have to say its HD based from the looks of it. doesnt look thick enough to hld a disc drive or cart plug AND a HD.
As a portable media player, im thinkin it will be much better then psp, as a game player, it'll probably go the way of some of the others like ngage.
altho, iriver probably wouldnt update it to stop it from being used with emulators. could be big there too. but then it would be competing with the GPX2

Re: iRiver's G10 WiBro game console
The one thing that puts me off is that "D-pad." Can't imagine playing with that. Looks to have a prouduct tie-in with Korea Telecom's services from that KT branding. And hear that what's displayed is a popular online kart game in Korea. So might do well there. Dunno about outside.

Re: iRiver's G10 WiBro game console
well you'd have to imagine back to playing goldeneye on n64, or some other games where certain control configs setup the 4 c buttons as directional (foward backward, step left, step right) then think about using that for all games but with the left hand instead.
i agree tho its not the best way for a dpad. just another reason why i think this will fail as a gameing handheld. but do well as a portable media player.

Touch screen.
Also, this will fail, or go the way of the GP32.

Some games could use a joystick, I wish Ninty at least half assed one.
Touch screen kinda makes up for not having one

what games do you control with the touch screen tho? none of the ones i've used do i control with it. (thankfully) i've been using it to do some other stuff in games. I agree with jonbo on that part, i wish there was a little something.
GP32 did well enough to them to make the GPX2, thats all about emulators and homebrew gaming tho, which im still curious if thats what this was supposed to be, because i cant really see it using games you actually buy and plug into it.. perhaps you'd have to install them instead of carry them around with ya. but then the games would just be downloaded.

Out of the games I own, Animal Crossing: Wild World can use it completely, and my girlfriend does use it completely. You can also use it for Advance Wars, Super Mario 64 DS, Feel the Magic XY/XX, Polarium, Yoshi Touch and Go, and a lot of others. The ones that don't really use it, that I know of, are Mario Kart DS, and Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits (because the touch screen just sucks unless you're a master of Drilling.) Castlevania also uses it a bit less than normal, what with the seal-drawing and all.
The fact of the matter is the DS doesn't need an analog with the touch screen. I hate having to use analog for racing games, so I can't imagine one for Mario Kart. For the racing games on my Xbox I just use the DPad. And on the PSP I never, ever use my analog unless I'm showing someone the features of it.

yes, yes it does. touchscreen is good for some things, dpad is good for some, and analog is good for others.
none of them totally replace the other.

For the next Gameboy, yes. For the DS, no.
