My unintentional visit to the Retro Studios parking lot
So last night I was in the parking lot of Harris Publishing talking to a friend and waiting for our other friend to get off work when a couple of guys exited the building just next to Harris. My friend commented that she wanted to know what they did there because they always got to wear cool clothes (they looked about 18, wearing street clothes with the the wallet chains). We went up to them and asked them what they did there and they said they made games for Nintendo. This one particular guy was an animator and I asked him if he was working on projects for Revolution. He said yes but that he wasn't allowed to talk about it. I thought about bribing him but I didn't have any cash.
After they left I noticed that their parking spot bumpers said "Retro Studios" on them. I knew they were in Austin I just wasn't sure where. Anyway we tried to break in but all the doors were locked so we had to settle for peering through the windows. They only thing we could see was a shelf with books on C++ object programming, Game Developers conference manuals, and a bunch of materials on something called "Maya."
Any ideas on how to get in? I thought about trying the old "delivering flowers" trick.
P.S. I saw a shooting star for the first time that night.

The flower delivery trick won't work on them. It's all gamer guys. The best thing to do is Pizza delivery. Food will get you in the door. Tell them it was your last delivery and you'll end up having to throw them away then offer it to them and then start inquiring.

Re: My unintentional visit to the Retro Studios parking lot
You should invite them for a spot of drinks, play some games and get them drunk, and with the right words... they could spill some beans... or vomit... whichever comes first...

Re: My unintentional visit to the Retro Studios parking lot
You should hire a hot girl to come on to some of them .... that will get them easy.

It's another night in hell, Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death
And as we sit free and well, Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen

You could dress up as secuirty guards and then go inside and tell them you're following up on a call about someone letting some rats loose in the boy's bathroom again.
BTW, Maya is a high-end 3D computer graphics software package by Alias used in the film and TV industry, as well as for computer and video games.

Re: My unintentional visit to the Retro Studios parking lot
They're making Metroid Prime 3 using the freehand controller. They probably don't know much beyond that themselves. Unless you also care about the unimportant story that goes along with the game...
