Re: PSP: Emulation
Yeah, Null, point me to the KXploit too? I've been too busy to find it.
I've swaploitted two more times since it came out, but I wouldn't mind having the one-memorycard solution.

Re: PSP: Emulation
Can't say this doesn't make me extremely jealous... this is awesome. Kudos to all those hardworking nerds with no lives.
I also find it kind of funny that people that boasted about the PSP being better for its power and great looking games are now playing NES games on it instead of the PSP games... haha.

the extra power is needed to do this tho, i believe PSP has the power to do GBA/SNES games at full speed (eventually). if it was slower it could prolly still do NES, but not SNES/genesis etc.

Re: PSP: Emulation
I'm not looking at this as a replacement for my PSP, because I still occassionally pick up my Wipeout or Dark Stalkers. But I look at these roms as backup for when I forget my UMD's or don't feel like playing.
Besides, everyone needs something in their lives to remind them of their roots. For me it's playing Streets of Rage on the Genesis, and playing RPG's on the SNES.

Re: PSP: Emulation
hmmmmmmm, not all game folders like thier name being changed with that method i posted earlier. i guess some need to stick with the original names, untill the emu maker makes it so it can be any name.

Actually the possibility of Emulators (specifically those of the NES and SNES kind) running on PSP is one of the reasons I bought one in the first place... :>
I mean the games do look better, and if you ask me there were more games that appealed to me on PSP than the DS... But the possibility of emulators was also a big plus...
And I am happy to see that these nice nerds with no lives have come through on that (^-^

Re: PSP: Emulation
:P
and on a side note, I find the program PBPMaker to be better then KXploit.
PBPmaker, will do the same thing as KXplit, however it will hide the currupt file for you when it makes the files. only problem is its all in funky leters so the program cant be read, (altho thats not any different from kxploit unless your spanish), Not only does it do that tho, it also keeps the original emulators icons, so instead of seeing that PSP DEV icon for every emulator in your list, they all have thier own icons. (just make the name of the emulator 6 digits long when you type it in, and i've found it works very well then.)
I find it useful, be nice tho if someone made one in english. lol

You know, the KXploit has an option that makes it in english.

Re: PSP: Emulation
Alright, this is really pissing me off.
I picked up a USB cable today, and I did not forsee the string of complicated and frustrating events that would follow.
So, I come home and hook up the PSP to my computer, and then I spend two hours trying to get it installed on my computer. This little icon appeared in my system tray and was like "new hardware detected"...and then it wouldn't go away. Apparantly it was installing the hardware, so I let it go. I went and played MGS3 and came back, and it was still there.
So I decided to shut my computer down and try again. So it was shutting down, and it got to the part where it says "saving your settings", and then it stayed there. I left it like that for about 20 minutes, then I just pushed the button and turned it off. That has happened a few more times sense then.
But anyway, I eventually restarted and tried again. It took a while, but it finally came up and said "new hardware is installed and ready to use".
So I went to the USB part on the PSP, and then opened up KXploit and generated the files for an SNES emulator. I thought everything was good....but then I tried to put a ROM on there. I put the ROM in the correct folder, and then went to the memory stick part of the PSP. There was nothing there.
I thought maybe I didn't wait long enough, so I went back to the USB thing on my PSP (btw, is the only thing it's supposed show is the text "USB"?) and I tried again and waited about ten minutes before leaving the USB thing on my PSP and going to the memory stick. Still nothing there.
And I would like to take this time to mention that every time I hook my PSP to the computer and turn on the PSP, for some ****ing reason, my internet stops working and I every site I try to go to "times out".
I have no idea what the problem is.

Re: PSP: Emulation
setup has the option right away, unless they changed that, then the basic program defaulted in spanish, so you'd have to go through it like that before changing it to english.
and that doesnt hide the fact that PBP does a better job. i never liked how Kxploit turned everything you did into its own icons on the psp, so every emulator would have that same boring psp dev icon. i like to see the original icons made by the ppl who made the emulator.
And it sounds like something is screwed up with the USB settings, or USB drivers on the computer. really all that should happen is you plug the wire in, computer goes ding dong! wait about 10 to 20 seconds and it will say everything is ready to use.
then when you goto 'my computer' there should be a f drive or a e drive or somethign, and when you go into it it would list a folder just like any drive would. and you drag and drop files like normal.
you could try going to control panel/admin tools/computer managment/device manager and make sure in the USB section theres no question marks or x's or anything.
Or, try plugging it into a Different USB slot, and letting it set it up there real quick.

Re: PSP: Emulation
Ok, thanks Null. I plugged it into another USB slot, and it worked. I guess that one must have been messed up.
But the SNES roms are really slow...
So how do you change the system settings like you and Kyuzo were talking about? I want to up my processor speed...I know that will suck away my battery life, but i don't care, I have an outlet to jack into.

I remember mentioning it before, but press left on the analog stick. Then use the settings posted earlier.
