Oh yeah, I happened to learn today what those figures mean.

50% means that half of the marriages of that year will eventually divorce. That could be after 2 months, or after 50 years.

You can also look at it differently. Out of every marriage in Holland, 1% will divorce this year..... that doesn't look much, but this is every year.
