Maxis has done a brilliant job making sims pop to life again while adding some brilliant community tools that actually add to the value.

9.0 Graphics

While the graphics aren't the most advanced I've ever seen, they certainly have the most personality.

8.5 Sound

Brilliant Simlish is back and as crazy as ever, but you had better be prepared to add your own MP3s because I about went insane listening to the music that came with the game.

9.0 Gameplay

Deeply entertaining and addictive! All of the new features were very welcome additions to me. There were some little things that bugged me, but overall, I'm very, very happy.

9.5 Lasting Appeal

People still play The Sims. This is only going to deepen the addiction. When more and more custom content comes in, people will have to be handcuffed away from their computers.

I liked the first one. I want to get this one. I just hope the game's engine is more efficient or something becuase sometimes the first Sims ran a little slow when I started making a really nice house.

I never encountered the slow thing with the more I got. But i have a good computer....


The only problem i have with the first is the time is incnsistant.

Like sometimes when your guy has to get up for work it is on regular speed, so it taes him about 5 minutes ( fake game minutes) to get into the carpool car, but once i forgot it was on 3 (fastest speed) and it took him 45 minutes to walk out the door from his bed. Because the animations arnt time appropriate.

Plus they want to eat every 10 god damn minutes.

But Sims 2 sounds awesome.

I never got into the Sims much, partly because of the problem Typhoid lists. Its a big problem. I doubt I'll be getting The Sims 2.
