Final Fantasy X-2

What pleased or dissapointed you about this game?

For me, it was only disapointments, no major pleasings.

Warning, if you dont want to know what happens in the game, please dont read, i give little stupid pices of info away.

What pissed me off about it:

For one, there were barely any cinematics, barely, to my recolection anyways, besides the spheres.

2. There is no way you can beat the game 100% on the first 2 trys. There probably is, but ive played the game 2 times, beaten it 2 times, and im only at 91% completion.

3. They revamped Blitzball.
This pissed me off, you cant play it anymore, only observe. Like your the manager. I really liked Blitzball.

( But there are 2 secret teams, one being the besaid Aurochs, and the other the Zanarkand Abes. You cant get the Abes on the first try though. To get them you need to get 100% completion, then win an invitaion through a tourny, then beat them in an exabition.)

4. Rare use of Chocobos. There is a way to get them on the Highland yes, but nobody uses them anymore...so sad..

5. They took out a few minor places. Why i care, i dont know, but it would seem to me that they should stay there.

6. THERE IS NO F****** TIDUS IN THE WHOLE GAME!!! Yes , it leads you to believe you will see him, but you dont.
UNLESS, you get 100% cmpletion.

7. Too many little confusing annoying dungeons to complete that take at leat a few hours each because they are so annoying.

8. No swimming.
Not one foot so much as enters playable/swimmable water. every part (excluding Besid, etc.) with easily accesable water, was removed. Example, inside Mount Gagazet.

9. Tobli.
What the hell is he? it? hes a midget with a duck bill, but it doesnt say if its a mask, or why hes so small, or if he is a different race. That confused me yep yep.

10. Only 3 characters. I would have liked it more if you could have Brother or Buddy. 3 seems like the bare minimum.

And lastly, the plot was ultimatly weak, the game was good, but it wsa like a mix of a FF game,a nd Charlies Angels. Too much "girl power" stuff.

(ther is this one part that confuses me. Near the end Shinra says " My last mission witht he gullwings." when you go to the spheres etc. But where the hell does he go? It didnt tell me. Maybe i missed it.)

What made me like it:

Non linear gameplay. You can take different paths every time.

Job system

Leveling up system ( they dont use spheres in this one)

The in battle sequence thing. You can attack whenever someone else attacks, or is being attacked. 'tis awesome IMO.

Thats my long rant, i'll be sure i'll have more to add when im not tired.

I agree with you. And although I've had the game since christmas, I still haven't beat it.

The only thing I have to say about your comments is... I'm glad there is no Tidus in the game. He was easily the gayest lead character out of any FF game.

Anyways, FFX sucked. At least I thought it did, so I didn't bother with FFX-2

Only if you get 100% of the game completed.

Ive read the script dealy on gamefaqs for what happens, and so far i've seen 2 videos for the "special" ending. One is in japanese, and isnt cinematic, and the other is cinematic, has no talking, but sint where the thing says it is.

Not just 100%, I think. I believe there's another ending where Tidus shows up as kind of a dream form. Like the dead people in the Farplane in FFX. I haven't seen it, though, so...

I didn't really like FFX-2 either; mostly because of the story. It just didn't seem like a natural progression from the end of FFX. I could see sphere hunters happening, and maybe Rikku become one of them. But Yuna just seems wrong.

I also dislike the whole idea of Tidus coming back. It ruins the ending of FFX. In FFX, Tidus tries his best, and succeeds, at finding a way defeat Sin without Yuna having to sacrifice himself. But then he does what he stopped Yuna from doing and gives up his life for the greater good. Deep (ish). Bringing him back just ruins it.

And don't get me started on the J-Pop. *shudders*

I think that they should have gotten rid of the whole Yuna/Tidus thing. Their story was over. They should have expanded Paine's story and made her the main character. She's where the actual story was. Yuna didn't have jack happen to her "story" until the end.

Rikku could have stayed as a character (she fit) , and someone else used to replace Yuna. Baralai and the other guy (Youth League leader) should have been included as playable.

Separate note: The Tobli model was in FFX. If you wander around Luca (near the Sphere Theater) in FFX, you'll see "Tobli." It freaked me out when I played FFX again after I beat FFX-2. I never noticed the guy in X, but now I go "Tobli!" everytime I pass him.

Well, thats good, because he doesnt come back. I think the perfect ending one is the farplane one, or a dream or something like that.



(Yes, i knew Tobli was in FFX, but wtf is he? A duck-man-boy-thing with a sort of stutter...)

EDIT: One more thing that pissed me off, i think i might have mentioned it, but its the fact you cant go inside the city of Bevelle.

That pissed me off, because they had a possibility to make a really cool high/low tech FF classic city kind of thing, and they didnt.
