FFX-2 sells 1.2 million Japan (1st Day)
http://www2.realint.com/cgi-bin/tarticles.cgi?poty+1198
March 13 sales
FFX-2 1,200,000 (78%)
VF4 EVO 52,000 (38%)
Me thinks this rapes Vice City in all its holes... Not to forget that Vice City was the most popular game in the US... which is a larger market.

I heard it was 1.8 million, but 1.2 is still good. This is a great start, I hope the game is as good as its hyped up to be.

Final Fantasy X-2 shipped 1.8 million units in Japan on its first day of release today, Square representatives recently confirmed. That makes it the most successful Japanese game release of 2003 so far, outdoing the recent platinum shipment of Shin Sangoku Musou 3.
The first proper sequel in the Final Fantasy series had the expected lines of fans gathering around Tokyo game stores well in advance of early release hours. The Shibuya Tsutaya media destination saw a special appearance by Square president Yoichi Wada, Enix president Keiji Honda, and pop star Koda Kumi, who contributed a voice-acting role and two musical performances to the game.

Well I wouldn't be suprised if some areas have the game lying around... while in others people are desperatly running around to find one.
It could sell more if not distribution problems.

Yes, either way its still an amazing start. Some games sell that much in a month or a few weeks, but one day! Now thats something to talk about. A lot of it is probably from hype and anticipation considering its a sequel to a very popular and successful game. It got scores of 9,9,8,8 from Famitsu so that's pretty good. I hope the game is good, and not just some cheap sequel made only milk the series dry.

FFX2 eh, beating FFX was hard enough (for poor lil me).... I hope they don't stack on those battles that are so hard that only the grace of god can help you win again.

oh yes, of course, TheGame isnt too much of an RPG man. You should've used a strategy guide or something, because FFX is EASY.

FFX was my first RPG and I loved it. Unfortunately, like theGame, I got ass whooped. FFX-2 looks like a lot of fun and will definately be a future purchase.
