Default Zelda Boss Battle

Only a natural progression. We've done best 3D game and best 2D game.

So what are some memorable moments from Zelda games.
And what would a Zelda game be without boss fights?

One of my favorites is both a boss and a moment at the end of Wind Waker with Link and Ganon, I won't ruin it because I know a few GTers haven't played yet, but for those of you who have completed it. You know the rocky conclusion to the sea-faring adventure.

The first boss battle that came to my head was the Phantom Gannon battle in OoT so that must mean something...

I think it stuck out so much because first off, it was the first battle as adult Link. There was a certain allure about being older and having more power/options which made it cool, and the mix of music, colors, and lighting in the room added to the epic-ness.

Long time no see.

Will have to go with the final WW battle. It was so pretty and epic and just so damn fun...plus that finishing move.

This one is the most memorable for the music alone though:

There are a ton. The first one that sticks out in my mind is the giant frog in Twilight Princess. I thought, wow, this is amazing. A lot of polish went into it, for sure.

I liked pretty much all the Twilight Princess battles. For some reason, the double hookshot boss is standing out in my mind right now.

I have to agree on phantom gannon. I also like from Oot the twinrova battle, the one with the two witches.

Yess. I forgot about that one! That was definitely the most epic out of all the Zelda boss battles, ever.

Ah, BlueFire's one was really cool. But (like all TP bosses) way too easy.

A boss (fight) in Zelda has to be hard, mean & scary, has to include enough sword fighting and especially smart use of items. I can't really pinpoint one. Oh, I hardly remember any TP bosses... I need to replay it.

Edit: When I asked my brother, he instantly said Majora's Mask, final boss. Or Shadow Link, OoT.
I had to think of Ganodorf in Ocarina of Time, epic battle which seemed to be without end.

Nobody mentioned a 2D boss fight yet...

(BTW, Majora's Mask has best Zelda music IMO)

Twinrova was pretty memorable:

and who can forget Ganon/Ganondorf

A 2d boss fight you say Angrist. Now youve got me thinking. I remember giant Dodongos, early encarnations of the boss with loads of eyes, I forget it's name. And the weird worm things. All of these copied in later games. Cant forget Ganon from ALTTP either.

A memorable battle for me (and there are many) has to be as others have said, the end of MM. Seeing that Tree on the hill when you go into the moon. Etched into my mind like a photograph. Playing as Fierce Deity link was fantastic.

And what of sub bosses, dont discount the sub bosses people. A temple would not be complete without some nefarious creature protecting the treasure.

I have fond memories of the Armos Knights of ALttP.

Actually most of the ALttP bosses were great. The incredibly hard worm of the third temple, the eye boss that Ric mentioned... Ganon, Raswhateverhalazas.
