You won't want to drink Coke or probably any soda again after reading THIS
Okay...I heard this from a friend. It's REALLY freaky:
We know water is important, but I never saw it like this:
WATER :
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.(Most likely includes half of the world population.)
2.In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak, that it is mistaken for hunger.
3.Even MILD dehydration will take a person's metabolism down about 3%.
4.ONE glass of water will stop midnight hunger pains for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
5.Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6.Preliminary resarch indicates that 8-10 glases of water could signifigantly back and joint pain for 80% of the sufferers.
7.A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on a computer screen or printed page.
Now for........
COKE/SODA
1.In most of the states (mainly the U.S.) the highway patrol carries two gallons of soda in a truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2.You can put a T-Bone Steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
3.To clean a toilet: pour a can of coke into a toilet and let it sit for an hour, and flush, then,Voila! Clean as a whistle. The acid removes stains from the bowl.
4.To get rid of rust spots on a chrome bumper, simply: rub the bumper with a crumpled up piece of Aluminum foil dipped in soda (Mainly Coca-Cola).
5.To clean coroded battery terminals in a car, pour soda over it,and it wil bubble away the corrosion.
6. You can loosen a rusted bolt by putting a cloth soaked in Coke over the bolt for several minutes.
7.Get gerase off of clothes by putting one can of soda into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent and run a regular wash. the acid will loosen the grease. It also clens road haze from your wind shield.
8. Coke can dissolve a perfectly good nail in 4 days.
9.the distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of thier trucks for about 20 years.
NOTE : this applies with ALL carbonated drinks.
so, What are you drinking??????????

I think it's okay as long as you limit yourself to one can a day.

I only drink about 6 a day. Ask me if I care? I mean use some common sense here, Coke doesn't harm your body. If the acids were actually harmful to us, we would all be dead. If it can remove rust, what's the worst thing that can happen to me, the rust in my stomach is gone?
Coke can only harm your teeth, and that's been known for years. Look at all the uses of alcohol, doesn't stop no one.

Well, I think acid would harm you, but only certain ones.
I mean you people do know that we all have acids jumping around in our stomachs?
And if you don't eat, it will burn a hole through your stomach lining and ofcourse cause ulcers.
Nothing too big as long as you eat right.
After some courses in HS, I really do believe that "ignorance is bliss". I mean half of you probably don't even know what you are putting in your stomach. Like how cookie and milk forms alcohol.

Actually, it does effect your health other than your teeth. Kidney troubles, diabettes, and ulcers could all result in too much soda consumption.

Too much of anything is dangerous. We're talking normal consumption here.
And Penguini, why do you think everyone likes milk and cookies?

Exactly. Your stomach utilizes acid for you to be able to digest food anyway (Relatively strong acid, mind you).
As for what it can do to you... Well, definately your teeth, mostly likely the ulcer thing, but as far as kidney troubles/diabetes are concerned... Well, things are hazy.
If you don't drink enough water, you run the risk of kidney troubles anyway. So basically, Coke can harm your kidneys by way of the fact that you drink it instead of water, thus keeping yourself from the amount of water you should be taking in (And although pop [soda] has water in it, it doesn't count that way. There's too much other junk in it). As for diabetes... No one really knows yet. Some people drink lots of pop and get diabetes, and some people drink lots of pop and get nothing. It's still a very grey area.
As for Coke doing all that stuff to metalic substances... My ass. Coke doesn't make pennies shiney (I've tried...), doesn't eat up nails, or do any of that other ridiculous stuff in that list (Well, at least not most of it). Though it may be acidic, and drinking several cans of it first thing in the morning (every day) without first having something to eat may (key word there) eventually (another key word) lead to an ulcer, the stuff isn't like drinking battery acid or something.
Just another example of someone with too much free time on their hands letting their imagination run free.

oh well. I like the taste of pop. I only have 1-2 cans a day... sometimes I even go a week without having pop. Whatever.
And about the acidicy cleaning stuff and making nails disappear (forgot the right term for that), I don't think that affects humans. Because.. um... yeah.
And milk and cookies create alcohol? Hm...
*chugs down a milk and eats 5 cookies*

I think the people who drank so much soda and got some kind of disease just didnt drink enough water, or healthy anything.
Oddly enough in my morning paper they mentioned that sodas should be banned from school for poor health issues. Those that argue had diabetes, and they were blaming the schools when they were young for having soda. Please, like they never had the option to drink more water.
If you ask me, it perfectly fine to have soda at school (or for that matter anywhere else). Its helps pay for uniforms and events without the use of fundraisers. And for some people it helps them stay awake in school. Aslong as you drink about the same in water.
