Kosovo Declares Independence

Oh shit, this is going to get hairy. Russia and Serbia have called bullshit on the declaration and long time Kosovo friends, the good ol' USA, have been asked to back the declaration by the Kosovo parliament, who bypassed the UN in making the declaration.

My opinion? The terms of the secession are pretty reasonable and with no ill intent from Kosovo towards Serbia beyond independence. All property rights will be maintained, only a new nation will be created. I think the US should back Kosovo.

Otherwise, all of our governmental bluster about freedom and democracy will be proven empty.

My opinion: If an area wants to declare independence, and has the resources, and funds to do so on it's on, power to ya - and have at - er. Make history.
