Default Worth it?

So, I missed all the Final Fantasy games last generation since I owned a Xbox and GameCube. I've been thinking of picking up a used PS2 to play FFX, X-2 and XII, but I've been having a difficult time justifying the purchase to myself. What do you guys think?

FFX was pretty good, but don't bother with FFX-2. FXII I haven't played, but from everyone I've heard, it dies off in fun pretty quickly.

The PS2 has a million good games anyways, and you should be ashamed of yourself for not having one.

My brother says FFX is great. That's all I know.

FFX is all right, I guess. I can't really play turn-based RPGs anymore. I get bored easily... unless they're one of the classics. You should try Star Ocean: Til the End of Time. Easily one of the best battle systems ever.

FFXII's battle system bores the hell out of me. It's more action based but you don't really have a lot of control over what happens during battle.

The FF games are good. People who don't like them are ones who are usually looking for that "first" feeling they had with RPGs again, which will never happen. If you want a rock solid long game with a good story line, FFX and FFXII are good buys. As for X-2, I wouldn't know, never played it.

If you didn't have a Ps2 before though, I suggest you look into MGS2 and MGS3.. avoid FFXI.

FFXII might be the one of the best games I played last gen. FFX is awesome too, and if you do play through and enjoy X, definitely try out X-2, it deserves a lot more praise than it gets credit for.

You'll also need to play MGS3, Shadow of the Colossus, and a Devil May Cry title.

Man, how did you not own a PS2.
