Nintendo's Wii may get early launch

While Nintendo has not made any formal announcements about the launch date for the Wii, most of the industry has expected the machine to hit retail at approximately the same time as Sony's PlayStation 3 (which is set for November 17). Now, industry observers - and insiders - say they expect the system to be available in October, with late September a dark horse candidate.

Wow, that would be something if they could get it out in late September. Personally, I highly doubt that will happen. Actually I still doubt even October, a November release still seems more likley to me.

Either way, as long they have a strong launch and a steady release of decent games towards the end of the year (and after).

With both Zelda and Metroid annouced as launch games, i wonder what big titles nintendo will release after launch and before the end of the year. Would be awesome if Mario galaxy was ready in time.

Since it's just a souped-up gamecube, I believe it.

Rumours even had it it would launch in July, or even at E3. That hasn't happened, obviously.

Yea, it maybe be simply a souped up gamecube, but that dosent mean they will have a decent launch lineup ready if they launch in september...

not going to happen.
