As for the second one, it had great acrobatics and sword play, but other than that it didn't strike me as being very Star Wars at all. It was like Crouching Tiger Hidden Matrix.
Overall, I thought the first was far superior in both concept and and keeping true to the source material.

I don't think you interpreted the second one well. Of course it had the acrobatics and choreography of a Crouching tiger movie, but in essence it was telling a story and in fact the letter he was reading was written by a soldier from world war II whom had been KIA.
I think the second story told a great story as well as the first one. But the original objective of this thread was to show a home made lightsaber duel.... not who captured the essence of Star Wars the best.
In both videos... you had Lightsabers... and a duel.. and force. So in essence, you have a lightsaber duel. If you want I can show you a home made STAR WARS short film, because these are just duels... you'd probably benefit from the shorts a lot more and get more of the Star Wars.
EDIT: I don't understand how you could've gotten one is more Star Warsy then the other... first one, great video good choreography and good force but in retrospect was two kids fighting in a power plant in plain street clothes. The only star wars feeling they had was the light sabers and force.....hmmm
