Wacky animals. Check.
Magical forests. Check.
Windwills, ships, huts, and trees with engravings around the trunk. Check.
A typical Rare adventure. Check.
Verdict: Check please!

The sad truth its that if this was a Miyamoto project you owuld be nuts right now and already calling it the next great game for Nintendo. I mean, it LOOKS like a Nintendo game afterall.

And to be fair
On the other side, if it was a Nintendo game.
Most would bash it for being overall colorful and kiddy.
Life works both ways sometimes.
Just saying....

Re: Rare's New Game: Viva Pinata
I think it looks interesting, it has a cool art-style I think. And the characters look like they have personality. My first reaction was, I could like this. And with a name like Viva Piņata it sounds like it would be unique. I'm not sure why everyone is putting it down. I haven't cared much for Rare recently, but that doesn't matter.
However, it really is a kids' game; it's being made in tandem with some Saturday morning kids show of the same name. But even then, it's one of the more interesting sounding kids game I've ever seen. It sounds like a Harvest Moon/Pikmin/Sims/Animal Crossing/Pokemon all rolled into one (though I will admit I haven't played some of those games, so I could be wrong).

Sounds like a sleeper hit in the making to me.
