Fanastic 4
I received this via Netflix, and I have to say I don't know why everyone seemed to hate this movie. Is it a great movie? No, but its fun and the characters are pretty well fleshed out considering the number of protagonists there are and I really like how Doom was presented and how his character was actually preserved for future films, a device that so few comic movies choose to use considering that every superhero/group needs their respective arch villian like Magneto in the X-men series (Longest sentence evar!!!)
I actually thought Michael Chiklis was great as The Thing as he was able to emote very well even with all the prosthetics. Another aspect that I enjoyed was how they presented the awakening of their powers and how they each reacted to them. Anyone else think this movie was treated unfairly?
This movie even got me to thinking about a big Marvel "event" movie being a possibility. There have been a lot of Marvel movies as of late and they've all done pretty well at the box-office. There are even more in production with Ghost Rider being the next to be released I think. I think a huge cross-over movie with all the marvel characters that have made it to film would be fantastic in a few years. Maybe unveil Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet or unleash the one marvel character that is steeped in the mythos of the Marvel universe... GALACTUS. Just make sure Jim Starlin writes the damn screenplay.
...
Even writing this I know it will never happen, but its fun to dream.

I would have to agree, it wasn't a great movie, but it was atleast cool and fun. and I liked how the portrayed the human torch, and "the thing" was awesomely played.

I haven't seen this one as of yet. I had wanted to but after hearing so many reviews that it was terrible I kind of...put it off...

Funny, I just saw this one tonight. I thought it was good, about what you would expect from a comic book film. Generic but fun.

I don't think most superhero movies are generic. They at least break the mold of most action movies.
As for FF, I think it was a good movie.. well more like decent. The problem I had.. biggest problem I had with it.. was it was coming off of Batman Begins and Sin City, which in my book were both extremely well done comic based movies that were also very good movies.
I also don't like the idea of one villian and 4 heroes needed to take him down but eh.
Also as for a crossover marvel movie, never gonna happen. I mean if you want to see the headaches witht hat look at the Superman/Batman movie or even Freddie vs Jason and how long that was in production.

Re: Fanastic 4
I enjoyed it. It was really more of a setup movie though and I think that's what people had problems with. Most of the movie is discovering their powers and their relationships to another rather than fighting evil and whatnot...that and how Thing's wife just happens to be on that bridge...

Huh?
Batman AND Superman in the same movie?
Anybody think they will make a JLA movie?

Well, the thing to keep in mind is that you got this movie through Netflix which means you had it sent to your home where you could watch it at your own convenience all for the cost of essentially a dollar or maybe less depending on how many movies you get watch per month, all of which is to say that you really didn't have much invested in the movie whereas somebody who had to drive out to the theater and buy a ticket (which sometimes costs as much as the entire monthly fee for Netflix) is likely to be far less forgiving of a movie that turns out to be a waste of time (Ha! Even longer sentence!)
Oh, and they really shouldn't have made Invisible Woman a scientist, nor should she have been about half the age of Mr. Fantastic.
