Internet Problems
I've been having trouble with my internet lately and I can't figure out if it is my router, my modem, or my browser. I know it isn't the computer because both computers are doing the same thing.
I'm using Firefox and I have cable internet. Everytime I try to open a browser window it gives me an error for the home page. Then when I click on the bookmark tabs it takes a few tries before the page will actually load. I keep getting "Server not Found"
Anyone got any ideas?
I've tried power cycling the router and modem.

Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen

Re: Internet Problems
hmmm, well the only thing i can think of that might be causing the problem is time-out...as in the browser has a default time-out setting and when the website can't be reached in that time limit it just tells you server not found.
you could try changing the settings...wherever they are.
or the next option would be a different browser.
if neither of those work, then i got no clue.

Re: Internet Problems
my friend once had a virus/spyware that blocked out half his webpages. (which can multiply on differernt computers thro the network) if theres a browser like opera that you havnt already downloaded, then try it to see if it does it.

Re: Internet Problems
While we are on topic, ive been having a little router problem of my own. When I try to click an online video link(especially one that uses Windows Media Player), my router will often shut down or whatever, forcing me to power cycle it. It only happens when it tries to load a streaming video, normal internet browsing is fine. I have contacted linksys, they have told me to change some DNS number garbage in the settings, this hasnt worked. Any ideas? Oh and im using IE.
