Weird Food?
We were talking about this in one of my education classes last night, and I figured it would go well with the current heritage thread.
Are there any foods that your family eats traditionally that some would consider weird? Like when you tell people about them they say, " you eat what?" Some examples might be bologna and jelly or cow heart and spaetzle.

It's another night in hell, Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death
And as we sit free and well, Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen

Re: Weird Food?
Well for multicultural day back in middle school for me, I had to find a food of my heritage. So my family decided on goat cheese, from Norway.
We actually like it a lot. Nobody else dared to try it at the luncheon though. I think it was the sign that said "tastes slightly like peanut butter."

Re: Weird Food?
i've had onion pie {german dish} but most of the people I tell that to, don't normally say, "you eat what", their first expression is "ew".

Re: Weird Food?
Scrapple and Baked Beans for dinner
Tomato Aspic Salad (tomato gelatin with sour cream)
Pig Sous (geletin with everything they don't put in scrapple)
Roast Pork with sauerkraut, knockwurst and whipped potatoes
I grew up on all that crap.

Re: Weird Food?
The only thing I can think of, is that I've been eating sushi all my life, before it because popular with culture.

Hey kids! It's time to play our favorite game! "What was Typhoid trying to say?"
I'm guessing he was trying to say that he began eating sushi before it became culturally popular.
As far as wierd foods from my family, I can't really think of any. We're pretty American in our diet. I guess the closest thing I can come up with is that my mother, father, and sister all really like shrimp pizza.

Oh sorry Mr. Nut.
I typed "because" instead of "became".
Unfortunately the spellcheck doesnt pick up on replacement of words.
