I can't stand how everyone seems to think videogame movies have some evil curse hanging over them...
If you ask me, only 2 videogame movies made so far even had a CHANCE at being good (Resident Evil and Final Fantasy)... Most of the rest were based off crap that doesn't even have any stuff to base them off of in the first place (Mortal Kombat, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Mario Bros.)...
If the source material is good, and there's a good team behind the project who doesn't completely butcher the original idea, then there's no reason why the movie couldn't end up being good too...
Not that I think Doom will be good, it's based off a game that's basically just brainless action... And so it seems as though it's being turned into a brainless action flick... So hey, at least they got one thing right
