IGN does PSP vs DS

They didn't include software. Probably because it's in the gear section of IGN.

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
Well, I think they're assesment was a good one. Battery life, load times, and rigidity.
on Battery life: Like they said, the PSP is a lot more powerful, and with UMD reading, a lot more battery juice is required...DS uses catridges, and I don't think it uses as much energy.

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
That seemed pretty straightforward. PSP is the powerhouse, and the DS has more portability.

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
DS should've won the screen competition. I mean, come on, two screens against one! And one of those screens can be touched!
I think they made that one a tie so PSP wouldn't lose...
I still want a PSP though. Now they have people working on chat applications and one guy already has an IRC application ready: http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/fun.gam...eut/index.html

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
i dissagree with the tie also. but for opposite reasons, 2 normal screens sure they are touch screens, but can only display 260,000 colors. Vs a much brighter, better resolution, bigger, plus wider screen that displays over 16 Million colors.
HMMMM. i'd much rather have the bigger wide screen, i like to be able to have things bigger and more visable on screen. but i do like the DS screen, obviously nintendo is going in the right direction, finally making it backlit and all.
i guess thats why they made it a tie tho. different people like differnet things in it.

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
They should adopt a cave man who is not in tune with today's technologies and have him play the 2 handhelds, and see which one he has more fun with.

Re: IGN does PSP vs DS
You know, I've always thought, why doesn't the DS just have one big, badass touchscreen instead of the two lesser screens. I think I'd be much more attracted to the system if it contained said screen.

To be fair, Both screens can be touched. As can the PSP screen. Hell, the GBA screen can be touched. Even the original Gameboy screen can be.

Who cares? What matters is battery life, not which one is more powerful. We're not shopping for batteries here, we're trying to play games without it dying.

That comic was bias and insulting. I'm tempted to close this thread.
