Fun with History
Sony began in 1945 under Masaru Ibuka in the war-damaged city of Tokyo. In a small, pitiful building a few employees began repairing radios, and brainstorming for new tools people could use. The first new invention to come from the company, then known as Tokyo Tsushin Kenkyujo or Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute, was a rice cooker. From there, over the next several years, the company continued to grow. They made such things as electrically heated cushions and radios. The company changed names and moved several times before finally becoming Sony in January of 1958. By then, they had diversified to make many different electronics such as radios, tvs, and voice recorders. Since then, Sony has grown exponentially diversifying into nearly every aspect of telecommunications industry. This is just a chip off of the block of Sony's history.
I will be posting history about other companies.

Re: Fun with History
Wally Amos, an Air Force veteran who worked as a talent agent with the Willliam Morris Talent Agency, used to send home-cooked chocolate chip cookies to celebrities as a way to entice them to meet up with him and maybe sign a deal to be represented by the William Morris company.
In 1975, Amos took the advice of some friends and opened a cookie restaurant in Los Angeles, California, the restaurant being named "Famous Amos".
The restaurant proved so popular that eventually, the "Famous Amos" brand would later branch out, starting the production of cookies to be sold at supermarkets almost immediately, in a move that would later be emulated by other specialty restaurants, such as Baskin Robbins, T.G.I. Fridays, Starbucks, etc.

Good save! Show those bastards who made a history topic in the Playstation thread.
Kyuzo: Despite how it may "appear," this is not directed as an insult to you. But, Jonbo could have told you that.

Re: Fun with History
I didnt see this was in The Station forum. My mistake. I just click new posts and read them and thought this was in the general area or whatever.
I did not intend to insult or offend anyone. I'll just edit out my entire post because it was my fault for not checking the forum first.

It's not as bad as you think...
And your Keibler avatar still scares me... in the picture where she looks at you, she's so ugly.

Re: Fun with History
hey hey hey.. no insulting the Heiress of the Kingdom of Long Legs.
In any case.... no fault is in no ones hands. I think one of the moderators could move this thread to a General Area where ALL can post history about various companies.
