http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/05...s_6099430.html
Quote:
TOKYO--Dispelling any lingering doubts that it is bowing out of the console race, Nintendo announced today that it will show off its unnamed, next-generation console at E3 2005. Talking to reporters at an Osaka press conference, Nintendo's Senior Managing Director Yoshihiro Mori stated, "[We] plan to unveil the next-generation console [that will be] succeeding the GameCube at next year's E3 during the spring."

Re: Nintendo announcing N5 at E3 2005
They plan to unveil it. With Nintendo, you never know what the hell they are gonna do
But its good news. My guess is that it since they are showing it at next year's E3, I'm gonna expect the next console next year/next fall...

Yeah I want to see next-gen games so I won't be content with the current-gen games' graphics.
I want to enjoy the GameCube a bit longer...
BTW did you realise that Zelda: Surprise at Eł is going to be a late-gen game??

Re: Nintendo announcing N5 at E3 2005
I have this idea of what the controller for the revolution controller might be. (probably not, but might be a cool idea)
Think of a flight stick controller.... now imagine one for each hand..... still with me? now imagine both are wireless....still with me, now imagine both are tilt sensative (and have no base of course)
analog thumb sticks on the tops of each stick, two triggers on the front of each.
this would certainly be a revolution in the control scheme. wonder what they'd come up with?
be great for mech games (like matrix), interesting for FPS games and platformers, cool for super monkey ball.... there could be lots of weird ideas. helicoper sims would be wild.
Ever think that being so revolutionary would make third parties get lazy and not wanna port games?

I liked Conker on the '64. It really showed what the '64 was capable of graphics wise, damn good job I might add even though they didnt put in Expansion Pak support which would've made the game even better looking for a '64 game. And I know Expansion Pak support is technically still in the game because back when I had a Gameshark and could look at the code, I clearly saw an option in the options menu code area to turn expansion pak support on/off. I tried turning it to on but nothing happened

Ditto! I feel that the current consoles still have lots and lots of power to get squeezed out from them. And games are taking longer and longer to develop each time. The only games that pretty much showed what can really be done with the current consoles are RE4, Halo2, and Metroid Prime IMO. I don't think we need next-gen consoles for at least three years.
