Thumbs up 4D Rubik's Cube

.. or Magic Cube, as they call it.

Magic Cube 4D

It's just like a 4D-Rubik's Cube (or tesseract), at least in theory.

Make sure to read the short instructions below it. It's tough; so far I can only beat it when it's scrambled by one..

For some explanations on the 4th-dimension, this site has some really nice picture-laden (and short) reads. That site also has a 4D maze game, but I couldn't get it to work! I wish I could, it sounds sweet.

It appears that the random click method won't be too successful. I gave up after a minute.

I have two guys who've mastered the Rubik's Cube at school. I got to show them this site. We'll see how smart they think they are now.

The puzzle was confusing, but what was even more confusing was the explanation for the 4th dimension. Made no sense.

at least if you press 's' it solves it for you..

I agree, the 4th dimension doesn't exists, nor can be simulated.

I disagree. The 4th dimension may not be what the Magic Cube simulates, that's just a theory.

But 4D does exist. I'm no expert, but the 4th dimension is used in Calculus all the time and is represented by colors (ie. temperature, wind direction, etc.). Another theory is often that it is time, which certainly exists. Another theory is the in-out, forward-backward, etc.-etc. that the two games use. There's probably a zillion more.

Anyway, it's all in fun . The guy who made the maze game talks about how he tries to "see" the fourth dimension in everyday life and can't quite get it. It's nuts, but it's fun.

In-out and forward-backward are covered in 3D.

VERY easy to master the rubiks cube. it no longer has anything to do with how smart or clever you are.

the days of the internet mean its just a matter of memorization. there are websites that tell you exacly how to win it, and it doesnt matter what colors are where.

i mean it seriously goes thro and says 2 turns up 3 turns left 4 down. now you should have four corners that match. and its like damn.... i do.
memorize the moves and beating the cube is EASSSY.

Not really that much. Can you tell me any gossip?
easy to master the rubiks cube no longer has anything to do with how smart or clever you are? What is that?Where are they?Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. What does "it" refer to? Why now? Perhaps next time I will try it.I think you mean "it's" or "it is" not "its". Interesting comparison.Do I?
I think memorize the moves and beating the cube is a lot of things.

This is going to be confusing, so hang on.

The fourth dimension does exist, just not here or in the way we think of it. I'll explain it like this: To a person in a 2-D world, the idea of 3 dimensions would confuse them, they wouldnt believe it, they would see a sphere as a circle and a cube as a square. Thats why the 4-D rubiks Cube looks as confusing as it is. And i acually think that it might be 4-D...

In my opionion, there is a 4-D universe or galaxy out there, but our minds alone cannot grasp the idea of what it would be like because we are in the wrong environment for a simulation to occur.

I also just want to say that there has to be a chance of other Universes out there, just as there are other galaxies and stars. 1000 years ago they thought there was only one galaxy, when in-fact there are way more. So why cant there be more Universes? They could possibly be in a bigger mass called a Gigaverse, where the Universes act as Galaxies.

The big bang could'nt have occured without something else present, i dont believe the fact that all the matter in our universe was stored in an area smaller than a needle head then BOOM!...it needed a source for it all. Perhaps a nuclear explosion from another universe...if there is more.

And please...dont argue me alot on this...Space is the only thing i know..i will fight you to the grave over it..

Aha! I unscrambled a scrambled-by-two puzzle. So far the hardest part is figuring out how to move the pieces in the way I want.

I mean, I can see which pieces I need to move and how to move them to solve the puzzle, but figuring out which big cube to click and on which small cube of the big cube, and then which set of the even bigger 4D cube (1, 2, or 3) to get that move is the hardest part.

Don't worry, that last sentence makes no sense to me either.

jeepnut:

It's a different in-out, forward-backward, or something. I don't know, I don't understand that website's explanation well, but it talks about the theory I was referring to.

Did anyone else notice that the colour green comes out of nowhere....there is no GREEN!!!! it hurts my head to do....and why is it already solved for you? This is the easiest hard cube ive ever solved...

The "4D" cube was just a bunch of 3D cubes stuck together. If there is another dimension, it's not a direction... all of the visible directions are components of existing dimensions. Any dimension past the third would be intangible, such as time. Since time is included in many calculations, and is just as important as matter for any condition, time could easily be named the 4th dimension.
