"Yes" to the 108 characters... and "Whaaaaaaaaa?" To the graphics.
The game will consist of over 150 character images. For those two have been created inless than two years (2002 was release date for Suikoden III), the graphics seem stunning to me.
I agree with Crono_Link on the battle sequences. It looks like combat is going to be super fluid! And yes, there should only be one main hero this time. I think the Trinity sight and 3D were introduced in #3... primarily because it was #3.
Dylflon. Suikodens I and II also had large army battles. Suikoden I had a funny army vs army battle... where all of your 10 thousand units would be fighting at the same time. Suikoden II perfected the battle system and split the armies into little sqauds that you'd move around on a field. And Suikoden III messed with the system further and transformed the large armies into small groups of six people. The tileset for the battles as also changed.
It's no doubt that Suikoden IV will have large army battles. However, there's no telling what it'll be like.
