Need for Speed Underground
Has anyone checked out this game?
You can get the demo (It's like 220 megs) at:
http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/...nd/us/home.jsp
I just tried it out, and I must say it's pretty sweet. Graphics are nice, physics are more arcadey than say... Gran Turismo 3 or something, but still very nice and fun to play.
Methinks this might even be something worth getting a racing wheel for. Mmmmmm... Racing wheels.
Yeah, check that sh*t out.

Re: Need for Speed Underground
wow.....just wow..... the speed engine is unlike i've ever seen before, it makes it seem like your actually going fast when its at say 90mph....while in other games it seems still slow.....and the detail looks great...too bad my comp won't run it

And I just tried out "Drag" mode and damn, is it ever nice. The sense of speed is very cool. It's just like the drag race scenes in the Fast and the Furious or something. Totally awsome. I swear, with more cars and stuff (the demo only has 1 car with a few diff. paint jobs) I could play "Drag" mode for hours by itself.
Wicked fun.

Re: Need for Speed Underground
Since it sounds like the demo is pretty fun, I'll have to get ominub to download it so I can try it out

Re: Need for Speed Underground
i don't like drag mode...cause it switches lanes for you once you press a direction, what i mean is you don't directly control your car, but if you press left for example, it'll change 1 lane to the left, and it will straiten the car out for you...so you dont have 100% control over it
havent tried the other mode yet...meh, try it later today...

Hmmm... yes. That does kind of suck. And the other (pedestrian) traffic in drag mode is always the exact same way, so as long as you just get around and ahead of the pack (with proper shifting and nitro usage), and then move into a certain lane at a certain time, winning is no problem (because the biggest problem in drag mode seems to be hitting stuff).
A damage model would also be nice, but if there was going to be one for the finished version, it probably would have been included in the demo.
The feeling of speed in this game is totally amazing though. Very nice and fast.

Re: Need for Speed Underground
the demo is nothing compared to the full version...
the full version has so much more things, the only bad thing ( well sorta) is that there are only 20 cars in total, BUT you can make change them any way you want, there are like over 100 combos per car, so the chances of 2 same cars are slim to none
to sum it up, whoever likes racing games, GET THIS!

Re: Need for Speed Underground
How does it compare to Burnout 2? I kinda like that game, one of the few racing games I can play.
