Nintendo Makes Another Bright Move

At e3, Nintendo demoed a version of Pac-Man as one of their "big" holiday titles I guess and many people were opposite for several reasons. One of which being that Pac-Man for all extent and purposes is way outdated now, and second it featured the much dreaded GBA/GCN connectivity.

Maybe, it was due to the negative reaction or maybe it was the idea all along, but Nintendo has done something a bit different with the Pac-Man game (now titled Pac-Man VS).

Hey guys,

Miyamoto/Namco's new Pac-Man title, now known as Pac-Man Vs., will be packed in on one disc with Pac-Man World 2 and sold on GameCube this December for $19.99.

Better news, GameCube owners who pre-order the GCN version of I-Ninja will receive a bonus disc which features Pac-Man Vs. (but not Pac-Man World 2).

Best news, the same Pac-Man Vs. bonus disc will come with every copy of R: Racing Evolution for GameCube whether you pre-order it or not.

In every case it seems to be a good deal, and helps Nintendo out a bit.

I mean you either get Pac-Man VS/Pac-Man World 2 together for 20 bucks which isn't a bad deal, though I doubt it will sell too great.

Or as an additional bonus to pre-ordering I-Ninja.

And of course free with R" Racing Evolution. In essence, Nintendo is using Pac-Man in this deal similar to Link in SC II. Giving people a reason to pick up the Cube copy over the other 2 consoles. Link proved to be a success so far, will it continue with this?

Nintendo is finally starting to do good things/listen to gamers.*gasp* I want to check out Pac Man Vs. to see how well it is. And I agree that it probably won't pick up the sales of Pac Man 2 too much, but bundling it with R: Racing Evolution and putting in as a pre-order deal with I-Ninja is really gonna help.

I can't wait to see what pre-order bundle Nintendo will do next.

Let's hope they didn't put many resources into it. =P I'm glad they're doing that. I might have had to pay $5 for it.
