WWE Smackdown! Brand House Show Results- Edmonton, AB.
Hey there, here's my report from the Smackdown House Show in Edmonton, AB, Canada last night:
We got to the place at around 4 and Eddie Guerrero and Sable were already signing autographs. By the time we made it to the front of the line, it was closer to 5. I decided to bring Eddie Guerrero's Mugshot from The Smoking Gun for him to sign (Thanks, TheGame), but he wasn't too happy with that. The guy in charge told me it was inappropriate, so I decided to leave it out. While I got Sable to sign her Playboy Pictures (she wasn't too happy with that, either) and getting a picture with her, the guy slipped the picture back in. Then when it came to Eddie, he seen the picture and was pretty embarrassed/mad. I told him to come out to LATINO HEAT and he told me "NO, take your sh*t and leave". Well, I guess I deserved it.
We waited outside the parking lot, until the doors opened. Out came Vince McMahon in a limo- huge pop right there. Cena, Benoit, World's Greatest Tag Team, APA, Spanky, and pretty much every other star on the show. Zach Gowen got the first reaction when he came out his car- got boo'ed right out of the barn. I also got a photo with Funaki, and same with his autograph. RHYNO flicked off all the fans, I have no clue why.

We got in about a half hour early, and they wouldn't let us use our "VINCE IS GOD" sign, because it had wooden sticks on the side- it was about six by six feet, anyways. Either way, there were some people from a cell phone company or something, that were giving away papers with felt pens. The arena was about half full. The floor was half filled, and pretty much the entire first section.
Spanky vs. Ultimo Dragon
Mixed reactions for Spanky, but Ultimo was a crowd pleaser. Ultimo hit the Osaka Cutter quite early in the match, to take the win. The two shook hands afterwards.
Eddie Guerrero (C) vs. Matt Hardy- US Championship
Sadly, quite a loud pop for Eddie. The referee got knocked down and Shannon Moore entered the ring and gave Matt the title. Eddie then took it, hit Matt with it and threw it back to Shannon Moore. The referee wakes up, sees Shannon with the title and calls it a DQ. After the match, Matt Hardy gave the Twist of Fate to Shannon Moore.
World's Greatest Tag Team (C) vs. APA vs. Basham Brothers- WWE Tag Team Championship
APA got a huge crowd reaction, but there were a lot of "CHARLIE" chants through out the match. Bradshaw had asked if Shaniqua (referred to her as a man), was their legal manager. The World's Greatest Tag Team finally scored the win over one of the Basham Brother's. Afterwards, Bradshaw took a beer from somebody in the crowd and drank it to celebrate.
Sable vs. Dawn Marie vs. Nidia- Bikini Challenge
Funaki and a local radio station DJ were the special MC's for the challenge. All three divas looked great (all of which were in thongs) and Funaki got his own little dance from Dawn Marie. Despite my efforts, sable picked up the win.
Rey Mysterio (C) vs. Jamie Nobel- WWE Cruiserweight Championship
No Nidia with Jamie, but Rey always pleases the crowd. Rey hit the 619 and took the win. Not the longest match, but still pretty great.
John Cena vs. Billy Gun
Easily Cena was a hit of the night. Comes out and does a freestyle about Edmonton and how he can't eat a burger without getting Mad Cow Disease. Impressive match from Billy Gunn, but Cena used the ropes to take the victory.
Vince McMahon... Zach Gowen... Brother Love
Brother Love comes out and tells us that he has a special guest for us. Everybody gets excited for Vince, but it's only Zach. Brother Love asks Zach how many legs he has and they continue the conversation. Out comes Vince McMahon! Biggest pop of the night, in my opinion. Vince orders a match between Brother Love and Zach, with McMahon as the special referee. He makes Brother Love take off his jacket and it will only be fair if Zach takes out his leg. It didn't last long, with Zach taking out both brother Love and Vince.
Benoit vs. Rhyno- Submission Match
Rhyno comes out and everybody is all over him. Benoit, being in his home town, got a great reaction. Benoit misses the flying head bunt and Rhyno sets up for the GORE. Benoit reverses and makes Rhyno tap out to the cross face. Benoit then gave a speech afterwards, saying how Canada is truly a wrestling country. He then picked up a fan's hat and put it on his head.
Kurt Angle (C) vs. Brock Lesnar- WWE Championship:
The match started off pretty slow, with a lot of BORING chants when Lesnar put Angle in a sleeper type hold for about a few minutes. Angle hit the Angle Slam, but Brock kicked out. Lesnar got Angle in the F-5, but Kurt also kicked out. Angle then got the roll up and retained the title.
After the match, a long skit between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle occurred. Kurt and the fans used slogans such as "WHAT?" "WHO?" "WHEN?" and got Lesnar pretty pissed off. Lesnar told them once he beats Vince on Thursday, he's going to face Kurt at Summer Slam. Lesnar then F-5'ed Angle. When Angle got back up, he sucked up to our crowd and said once he was done with Lesnar at Summer Slam, he's giving Benoit a shot at the title. And then he can finally bring it to where it is deserved- Canada.

Afterwards, we waited outside in the parking lot for about an hour. Seen everybody, and waited around for Benoit, who was the last one to leave. Started a lot of chants for him and he decided to sign autographs through the fence. I got my WWE Program signed *first*, and then he went on signing for about another 5-10 minutes.

Overall, great show. Really impressed with what a Smackdown House show can do.
