Question Graphic Card Help: GeForce 4 Ti Card or GeForce FX card?

Ok, I'm building a new PC and I want a really good graphics card-- I also only want to use ONE AGP SLOT and NO PCI SLOTS for it!

I'm also commited to NVIDIA ONLY for this project, I don't have the MObo, PSU, or Proccessor yet but I have a good idea of what I want, and I KNOW it will have an AGP SLOT for the Graphics card n the MoBO, what I have so far in terms of hardware is as follows since it may factor in:

-SB Audigy 2 Platinum SOundcard

-Sony DRU-510 DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW/CD-R/CD-RW Writer/Reader Drive.

- Toshiba DVD-ROM Drive with DVD-RAM Read Support.

- Aluminam "Matrix" Full-Tower Server Case By Cheiftec

- Mitsumi Floppy Drive

- IOMEga Zipe 750 Drive.

Ok now here's what I need from you guys:

I'm thinking of an NVidia GeForce FX 5900 ULTRA Graphics card, I just want it to take up ONE AGP SLOT and be from a RESPECTED brand, forget cost for now, I also want it to be the NV35 Chipset like said card, and NOT the disasterous NV30 chipset aka the Dustbuster.

If anyone can tell me what NV35 Vbased card I should get that will ONLY take up ONE AGP SLOT and NO PIC SLOTS, I'd appreciate it, if All NV35 Cards take up AT LEAST one PCI SLOt IN ADDITION to an AGO SLOT, then could someone recommend a GOOD GeForce 4 TI Card?

Also the Card MUST Support 4x AND 8x AGP, it should be fast, VERY FAST and if possible it should run cool, as I am NOT overclocking it and I don't want anything that RUNS HOT!

Thank you in advance for your help, DO NOT reccommend an ATi Card though, I WANT an NVIDIA Card, and PLEASE, If possible, find the best NV35 Based Card aka the best GeForce FX with the NV 35 Chipset, preferably an ULTRA Card or another HIgh-End one, it should be FASTER than a GeForce 4 TITANIUM CARD, and MUCH FASTER than the MX Cards OR my Current GeForce3 card, it should also be powerful and preferably on sale somewhere in the USA since that's where I'll be buying it.
Thanks in advance everyone, I look forward to your help.

Bleh, the new geforce's make me sic to look at em. So big and ugly and they sound like a dust buster goin off in your computer. Go with an ati, like the radeon 9500 pro (sapphire makes good ones) Good price and only takes one slot! Or, if you're in a really good mood, get an even better one like the 9800 or something.

GeForce FX 5900 ULTRA

i'd have to go with BR on this one...ATI have really good cards...the 9800 just came out...so why dont you look into that?

i had an Nvidia card before...and then i got an ATi...so much better.

but meh...its your choice...

I've always been an Nvidia freak myself. I'd go with a Fx5600 or 5800. the card that ominub posted looks pretty enticing. You could always consider Radeon. I've had problems with radeon cards in the past, but I think they've cleaned most of those problems up. It's your choice in the end.

ATI Pro 9800.

I'm pretty sure it's retailing for about a 100 bucks cheaper than the FX 5900.......and there isn't much difference in performance.

Oh, and it turns out Nvidia has been cheating on the 3DMark thing. THey were releasing a thing in their drivers that gave the card a few more numbers in the test. 3DMark dudes found out and made Nvidia remove the cheat program.

Thanks ominub!

I'll keep that one in mind.

I've had more problems with ATi in the past than I care to think about and NVIDIA has been the one saving grace on the heap I have now, so I'm gonna stick with them.

Also that 5600 card was running the NV35 and no the NV30 chip, correct?

I don't want the NV30 "Dustbuster" I want the NV35 which is an all around better card, but that looks like it might be an NV35. Gotta do more research on it though.

Oh as far as the noise goes, my Speakers will take care of the probelm by Pumping out 6.1 Channels worth of Sound, the "Dustbuster" won't even factor into this equation.

As far as the NVIDIA Cheating on 3DMark I read about that too, even though it was removed (It wasn't a "cheat" per se, it was a program that was designed to "Optimize" the card with whatever it was running, it screwed up benchmarking programs though so NVidia removed it at the risk of being dissed by former fans, however it was what allowed for several other prgrams to optimize themselevs for the Nvidia chipset as well) and even with the "Correct" scores, Nivida still did better than ATi in the end, and ATi also had a "Cheat" in their cards that had to be removed, however when I found out that the NVidia cards are easier to update as far as drivers go than, say ATi, I'd take Nvida and I've had greater results with my GeForce 3, so I figure that I'll get an NV35 Chipset of some sort, now I just gotta get the guy who's supposed to be fining my MoBo to tell me which one to buy!

Thanks for you help guys, if anyone finds anymore cards from NVidia that look good, send a link this way, price on the one that was shown before is about right, and I just want it to be a good card that doesn't take up two slots, this looks perfect as long as it doesn't take up two slots though, if it does, then I've got a problem.

I ordered a GeForce 4 128MB for my new PC. They said a Hercules card was better, but it was almost twice as expensive
