Default Have you ever overheard a stranger say something incredibly stupid about movies.....

.....that made you want to punch them in the face? I certainly have. For instance, I was in Target yesterday looking at movies and a man and woman were standing next to me. The woman said "Great, they have Joe Dirt here on DVD. This movie is hilarious!" This wasn't any of my business, so I just went along with my...business. Anyway, these two were still talking, and though I tried to ignore them, I heard the guy say "Oh man, it's The Royal Tenenbaums. This is the stupidest ****ing movie ever made!" At that point I just got really angry. Like I've said before, it wasn't of my concern, but if someone has an opinion that stupid, they shouldn't be allowed to share it in public places. The Royal Tenenbaums isn't one of my favorite movies or anything, but the guy bought Joe Dirt!

Bleh, this crap ever happen to anyone else?

EDIT: So many mistakes in one post.

Well, I've been in the same situation, but with games.

K, some guy walked into Future Shop and he's like "oooh Xbox is the best, it has more bits man!!! definitely better than Playstation 2 or gamecube!!!"

I dont hate Xbox or anything, but just the fact that the ignorant guy had no clue what he was talking about made me angry. I agree XBox is the most powerful system but saying "it has more bits!!!" doesn't prove anything these days, plus its the games that matter.

Then, shortly after I bought Suikoden III, I was at FS again, and 2 kids were looking at a bunch of ps2 games, and one of them picked up Suikdoen III, and they're like "haha, look at this gay game!!!" they most likely didn't even play it or anything, they had no reason to say that. things like that make me mad .

Some people are just stupid, thats all

Plenty of times..

Animal Crossing is gay! Final Fantasy is gay! RPGs are gay! I never bother to explain the concept because it never seems to go through their heads..

Hey now, I happened to like Joe Dirt...not enough to warrent a purchase, unless it was dirt cheap or something. And yes I hear people play dumb things all the time. Like this K-Mart employee trying to say yu-gi-oh...He said like yogi as in yogi bear or something...twas very funny...yugioh sucks tho...

And Ive heard more, just cant recall right now...I just hate how so many kids these days think if its got guns and killing its a great game...

I'm surprised no one's pointed out that this thread's title makes absolutely no sense at all. I was tired at the time and started typing a lot of crap, so the whole thing is pretty stupid.

Considering it's source, I'd say it's unusually normal.

You were at Target? That explains it right there. Targets and Walmarts and KMarts are like the breeding grounds of stupid people.

No, trailers are. But you are partially correct. Sometimes these people decide to crawl out of the sewers they live in and go to K Mart. Also, GameMaster made a funny. He should be rewarded. I'll give him an extended lunch break today.

hehehe that was hilarious.. i've overheard people from time to time in various stores of how they dont like one thing and like the other, and sorta true stupid people sometimes wind up at wal-mart, target, and k-mart.

Well, this is about a game rather than a movie, but it still qualifies otherwise.

(the scene: a GameCube demo kiosk which is playing Metroid Prime inside Sam Goody. I'm watching a kid who's maybe 12 years old play the game. He's at the beginning right after Samus gets out of her ship)

Kid: What's going on? What am I supposed to do?

His younger brother: Jump off the edge there!

Kid: (runs into the force field that prevents you from plummeting off the edge) No, that doesn't work. What the hell? Why can't I do that?

(he begins shooting everything in sight and finally hits one of the six switches that you have to hit to open a barrier)

Kid: Hey, it turned red. That's probably good.

(he continues randomly shooting things until he hits another switch)

Kid: Oh, I have to hit lots of these.

(he continues to shoot randomly, not noticing that there are four other switches that look exactly like the ones he already hit. He eventually opens the barrier by shooting at random and proceeds through)

Kid: Now what?

Younger brother: (noticing the scan point) Shoot that thing!

Kid: (does that) Doesn't work. What the hell?

(while wandering randomly around, he happens to pass near the scan point)

Demo: Press left D-pad (insert picture here) to use the scan visor.

Kid: (continues to wander around randomly shooting things while these instructions are sitting in the middle of the screen) This game sucks!

Demo: Press L (insert picture here) to scan objects.

Kid: (still apparently not noticing the words in the middle of the screen) This game blows!

(he puts down the controller whereupon a nerdy Asian literary snob who happens to be nearby eagerly grabs it up )
