For a ten year old (but something that you will love too) get Project Gotham Racing. It's either 20 or 30$ now. It's an awesome game.

hmm....since you don't think he will like Splinter Cell, I guess I would recommend Halo. But since I don't own an XBox and probably never will, I guess that would be the one to get. meh

It came from Microsoft's "buttocks" (gotta keep it toned down so I don't get banned, but you get what I meant ) I just don't trust M$. The only product I ever use from them is Windows. Only because basically all the big name software uses Windows. but I dont want to throw this off topic, so I will just tell people to continue with this man's help.

JSRF? That's a really fun game. If not, go for Shenmue 2; my current favourite game.

Everyone must understand that that Jonbo is a player hater. He dislikes Microsoft for 2 reasons:
1) He affilliates the XBox with Windows, which is a mistake.
2) Its the cool thing to do.
The fact is that Microsoft isn't successful merely because they are bullies. MS basically revolutionized home computing and were the first software developers to take the idea of "a computer in every home" seriously. They do make a quality product.
Does it have bugs? Yes, but its also about 20 times more complex and advanced that the Mac operating system. Windows gives you more options and abilities. The truth is that a lot of non MS products flat out suck. People scream about Linux, but who the hell outside of the computer industry or culture want to learn how to use that? No one.
But I digress. In short if Jonbo wants to hold some infantile grudge against MS for Windows and not buy an XBox, thats fine by me. Its his loss.
Myself, I actually play video games FOR THE GAMES... not the politics.

Microsoft has a reputation for making ****ty products, because they make ****ty products. Microsoft has a reputation for screwing people over, because they have in the past (and they are still going strong). Reputations are earned, and it logical to associate Xbox with Windows, because they both are made by the same company with the same business plan.
Does it have bugs? Yes. Do they fix the bugs? No. And it not 20 times more complex than Mac OS, you would be foolish to believe that. Microsoft's software really only leads in web browsers, and office. MS Office I agree, is a great software suite. And the only reason the other browsers haven't caught on well is because IE doesn't exactly follow W3 standards, so you can either make a website that works in IE, or works as it should. Hell, IE for Windows and Mac even display differently. But there are other options avaliable, and many non-Windows users jump to them. But aside from that, MS doesn't have many products. Non MS products suck? Most of the great software avaliable isn't made by MS. If you mean non MS operating systems suck, that would make more sense, though I would still disagree, it's not so broad.
People scream about Linux because it's an excellent OS, unlike Windows. Windows only excels in the gaming world, and no, gamers does not make up the majority of PC users. The reason Linux will never appeal to the masses is because it's far too complicted to use. Apple solved that problem with Mac OS X. It is a Unix-based OS, but they have added a user-friendly GUI and have support from major software companies. And for the record, Mac OS X is the most popular Unix-based OS on the market. Linux doesn't appeal to the masses, but Mac OS X does.
Who says Jonbo plays games for the politics? If you don't trust a company and you don't buy their product, it's called being a smart consumer.
