Toe Jam and Earl 3 a dissapointment?

Seems like Sega's alien gangsta whatever genre game is not getting some good reviews.. Gamespot gave it a horrible 5.0 and IGN gave it a 6.3...

I was really into this game even though I didn't own a Xbox and this is what it gets...?

So what are your opinions?

My opinion is... SEGA SUCKS (damn, I haven't said that in a while)

They release any ol crap and it get's hyped up WAY out of proportion because of name recognition. This year, besides Virtual Fighter 4 and Monkey Balls, I haven't seen Sega make one game that is above average (and not a DC port).

I think all these crap releases will soon hurt thier name... which is good as far as I'm concerned. Right now, they are no better than EA, even in non-sports games.

Sonic adventure 3 should save thier name... but until then we have Shenume 2, PSO, Sonic Mega Collection, and Panzer Dragon. (

I'm pretty sure the ol dreamcast.ign.com would have given every game they released over a 9.0 just becauseit's Sega.

It's incredibly tough taking a game from 2D and making it into 3D. I wouldn't be surpised if this wasn't nearly as good as the old ones. Look at the DK series. 2D DKs kicked ass, DK64 wasn't worth $10.

Wow, a lot of Xbox games are turning out bad... I sure hope my Shenmue 2 doesn't too... I know it won't... I mean, Whacked was "ok". Blinx was "ok". This is "ok". There's some awesome games too, but I really do wonder about this... Also I hope DOAX doesn't fall under "ok". Eeek.

I wasn't expecting TJ&E3 to be good, so it's not disappointing if it was crap

Nope, at least not at Gamespot. It seems as though 5's are mediocre where in the dictionary means:

Moderate to inferior in quality; ordinary....

Which is basically average.

A lot of people seem to be making the mistake that a game that is 5 or 6 sucks, it's just an average game. Hell, you might love it.

5.0 is horrible if you're actually considering buying the game

just take a look at which games received lower than 6, and you'll get an idea just how bad 'mediocre' is

I'm quite sure Panzer Dragoon Orta will be good, but if it's not, I'll have lost all faith in Sega. Thank god for Rare...

I don't think Panzer Dragon Orta will suck....I hope it won't...In fact I'm 99.99 percent that it won't suck..the other three didn't suck, they kicked a$$...and I'm pretty sure that this one will as well.

I'm definetly glad I didn't buy an X-box. Cause it seems that all of their anticipated games have been getting low ratings.

I'm glad I got a Gamecube.(No offence to X-box owners)

Have you ever noticed people who dislike the Xbox spell it 'X-box' rather than the correct way: 'Xbox' I just found that interesting, I haven't seen anything like that with the GameCube or Playstation 2.
