Talking Shine Done!

I have finished SMS. I agree with other sites. The final battle was pretty lame. But at least it was good enough. Now all I need to do is get the rest of the Shines But umm....yeah. Has anyone else beaten the US version?

Don't smile. It actually sucks, a lot. Beating the same thing twice for hidden shines, getting 100 coins, and getting all the blue coins sucks major ass.

Replay value is meaningless if it consists of doing things that aren't enjoyable. Games shouldn't be a chore.

So....should I keep it or exchange it for another game at EB? I only get 1 exchange so it better be good. Thinking about SMB2 since I don't have a Multi-Player game (even though I have 3 controllers) Is there anything special I get for getting all 120 shines? If not, then this game is going back for another.

I actually enjoyed getting all 120 star's in SM64. Why should SMS be any different? BTW, I havent noticed a way to check how many blue coins you have in a certian level: Is there?

And will getting 100 regular coins get you a shine?

Getting 120 in SM64 was enjoyable. Getting any remaining story shines in SMS is enjoyable. The rest of it is not.

Anything special for 120, no. And why is SMS different? Easy enough. Once you have all regular story shines, and shines from the crap in the town, you end up with a couple things left. 2 hidden shines per level, most of which consist of you going back to the old-school style board and playing it again, this time collecting 8 red coins on the level for the next shine. Annoying. Collecting 30 blue coins per level is very annoying. And collecting 100 coins in the levels is not exactly that fun.

I've had 76 shines for a couple days now, and I'm able to get to the final boss. I don't think I'll play it again until the day before Animal Crossing comes out. I don't know why I plan on doing this, but whatever.

Well it has to do something for getting all 120 stars...it just has to, why would they cheat us so much? Oh well, I will prolly end up collecting all 120 stars, for lack of anything else good to do. Im up to a good challenge.

60 shine's right now and counting.

ahem...im at 73 shine's and counting...some of the last story shine's are really difficult(most consist of collecting the 8 red coins....and what is this about 2 secret shine's in each level?
