Timesplitters 2
I have an xbox and a ps2 and a gamecube, I am aware the Timesplitters 2 is coming out fairly soon and am not sure if it is going to be online for anything or not, the question I'm asking is which system will the game be online for and which system won't it be online for, i realize the with xbox not being online yet timespltters 2 may not online on the xbox, it might also not be online for anything but I'm going to get the game depending on which system its online for if its not online for any system I will just simply get it for the big magic xbox!

I would go with Xbox or Playstation 2. GameCube doesn't get the best ports.

Well, I don't see this game being very fun to play with the GCN's C stick. I also dont really care for the ps2's analog sticks either so I will be getting it for the Xbox. I also do not have a ps2, so that makes the decision even easier.

if they take advantage of the networking Xbox has (not online play, just connecting 4 Xboxes) I think the Xbox version will be the best. If not, it's a three way tie, Xbox and GCN will have more accessable Multi play and maybe even better graphics... but on the other hand, Ps2's version won't be a port, can't dis the original.

IGN stated that graphically speaking, all versions will be near identical. So if the frame rate on the GC version is a near enough rock solid 60 with occasional drops below it (the 60fs also applies for multiplayer), then it may be the case for the other versions. IGN also said that most the editors found the GC controller best for TS2 (in one of the TS2 articles).
There won't be any online facilities on any of the version, though there will be a feature that allows you to link up multiple consoles on both the PS2 and Xbox version. So IF you're interested in getting around 8 friends together, and you have the option of hooking more than 1 console up, then go for either the Xbox or PS2 version. If you're interested in better controlls and possibly a better frame rate (not sure), and will only ever have the option of playin 4 player, then go for the GC version.

I'm just stating what most editors at IGN have said, if you don't believe me, then check it yourself .

I think that to say the GameCube version has better controls is more of an opinion. Since there are many 3rd party controllers there are a lot of variables to really say which console has the best controls. Also, I highly doubt the frame rate will be better on the GameCube. If it would be, again highly unlikely, I doubt you would see a huge difference between the GC version and the PS2 and Xbox versions. Also, if you can only play with 4 players that doesn't mean you should go with the GameCube. Both the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions support 4 players, having 8 players is just an added plus.

I totally agree with you about the opinions part.
And did I not mention that the Xbox AND PS2 were capable of multi linking?
When a person has only one console, and their friends don't have the same console as them, then the only option is split screen, and I guess buying a multitap for the PS2 would be more expensive, while also being a pain in the butt .
And yeah, the Xbox doesn't need a multitap, I was just stating the pros of the GC version in relation to the pros of the PS2/Xbox versions.

Shadow, you really seem to elaborate on the Gamecube version's features as apposed to the PS2/Xbox versions'.
I wonder why
I'd like to see some info about the Gamecube having a superior framerate. I'd also like to know since when does everyone prefer the Gamecube controller?

Not this again...
If I really wanted to 'boast' about the Gc version, why did I elaborate on the Xbox and PS2 features that aren't in the Gc version?
So really, I don't have a clue as to what you're blabbing on about.
About the controlls, yes, they are a matter of opinion, but IGN stated that quite a lot of their editors feel that the game is suited for the Gc controller.
As for frame rate, like I said, I wasn't sure on that matter, but based on various games that have been multiplatform, such as Turok and AUF, the frame rate tended to be better on the Gc version, and since some of the programmers were familliar with previous Nintendo hardware, I guess it was an 'educated' guess.
Again, I stated I wasn't sure on the matter, and I think that the frame rate is probably the same on the GC and Xbox versions.

I don't see the reason to even buy this game anymore, seeing as they cancelled online play, which was 99% of the reason why I wanted it. This game is a rent at the most, nothing more IMO.

But Timesplitters on PS2 had a constant 60FPS, no?
I thought they were gonna get it at a constant 60FPS in TS2 also
Maybe not, I dunno, I havn't been paying much attention to the game

So I guess Goldeneye is just a rental too cuz it didn't have online play even though online play wasn't around back then?
First Person Shooters can still be hellagood without online play, y'know... and I thought I heard that this game was shaping up rather nicely... ?
