Just picked up Madden 2003 today... and I have a few issues
Ah yes, for the first time in history, I have complaints for Madden
Why is this? Because this is the first year I have given it a serious comparision to NCAA football.
Complaint #1:
The Music...
It's not that the music is all that bad, I can handle most of it, but there are still a few songs that ring in my head and make me mad. This wouldn't be bad if there were an option to turn off some songs... but I have yet to find this option.
Complaint #2:
The Game speed...
In the transition fromcollege to the NFL, you would expect the speed to get faster. But on Madden it moves slower, not too slow, but noticeably slower. I didn't to expect this game to play like NCAA, but I also didn't expect it to play worse than NCAA.
Complaint #3: (only for peeps who own NCAA)
When you transfer draft classes, you get the top 300 seniors... but you don't get the best 300 seniors statisticly. It all depends on ratings, so my #2 hiesman running reciever didn't even make it to the NFL draft in the top 300
Other then these complaints, I find this game to be the best Madden ever. It took everything that made 2002 great, and made it a lot better.

Hmmm...considering you posted this in the 'Cube forum, I figure you have the 'Cube version. I can understand the problems. EA just slops Madden '03 from PS2 and calls it good. Usual

I did get it for GCN, because it is the only active system I own at this point.

So how's the controller for the game? Would you rather just get an adapter that lets you use the PS2 controller?

I don't want to make this thread turn to something else, but I will say this. The adapter thing is pointless! If you can't stand to use the 'Cube controller, why buy the system in the first place! I don't think any companies have made an XBox adapter so that you can use PS2 controllers on it since basically people have complained about that controller more than anything else.

I like the Cube controller for the game...but, I found a new problem... NO carrer stat tracking, which makes the Ps2 automatically twice as good.
I think I might take it back now
*sigh*

Well, at the rate I'm goign I'l ahve Madden 2003 by the middle of the NFL regular season, because I ain't ditching my copay fo Madden 2002, so that's my case. I'll only play Madden 2003 for the GCN just to see how much different it is from 2002 on the GCN, but I'm not in a huirry to get it. I also won't get NCAA 2003 for the GCN, because I don't want to get dissapointed with Madden.
Oh, and if you think Madden '93 was a bad football game for music, try any of te NES Footbal, Baseball, or Basketbal games, those damn 8-bit tunes are alweways styuck in my head, I have thew first level fo TMNT stuck in my head right now, catchy tunes will never leave you alone, so my advice is simple, us ete "Mute" buytton onyour remote to avoid them.
