Default Gretzky comeback?!

Just check out any hockey site, (www.tsn.ca for sure) and you'll see that there are rumours that the Great One will make a comeback. I don't believe he actually will for the record, but 60% of everyone seems to think this is a bad thing.

I disagree. He can make a successful comeback and Mario Lemieux is proof, he's arguably the best player in hockey still, lead his team to a gold ****ing medal, lead the league in points per game in his comeback season and was second I think this past season. While I don't think Gretzky can be as successful if he does comeback because he's older then Lemieux for one, and isn't as suitable for the NHL nowadays. What I hate is the people saying "Ohh this will ruin his reputation" or whatever, this is complete bull****. The guy has over 60 records, nothing can change the fact that he is one of, if not THE best hockey player to ever play.

And dammit, imagine if he did comeback, when Phoenix plays Pittsburgh...

It sounds great. But this might turn into a Michael Jordon thing. He comes back, and no one really cares anymore.

No... MJ's comeback was quite successful. He sold tickets. Period.

And if they great one comes back, he will have to play for Pheonix, right?

Correction. He whined and cried his team to a gold medal.

Dont get me wrong, The Canadian team DAMN well deserved to win. They were obviously the best team. Tons of skill. Hell they were my favorites.

But it wasnt him. he just cried to the media day after day. it was the ****ing players on his team that made it happen.

Personally i dont like him. Never have. I dont consider him the great one. I think Mario Lemieux was far greater of a player then gretzky ever was.

And i think once you made a career decision to retire. that should be it. That goes for all players. Gretzky, Jordan, Lemieux. And prolly the only reason gretzky wants to come back is to sell tickets for the team he owns so he can make money. i think it was the same with jordan. And i think its wrong. owners shouldnt be allowed to play. They used to be not allowed to play. i dunno what changed. or maybe its a differnt sport they dont allow owers to play.

Anywho. I hope he dont come back.

I meant Lemieux lead his team to the Gold Medal, as I was just showing how successful Lemieux has been since his comeback to show that it is possible. I agree though as I think Lemieux is better than Gretzky.

Of course it wasn't Gretzky who won the gold medal...the players did....but he hand-picked the gold medal team.

And I do not want to see Gretzky come back. I bet he'd be crappy. His career was gradually going down hill before he retired. I would exprect more of the same if he came back.
